A weasel is not only about half that length but they are white this time of year.
Nice job on the Marten. It should look a lot better when it's dried :tup:

:yeah:not all weasels are white right now, i beleive it has something to do with elevation, i have seen a few weasels lately that are still dark, but i saw a couple up in the hills that were white

That's what I've always been led to believe but I've been cutting tracks at and below 1000' all over the place. After this catch I've converted a few of my muskrat traps for marten and now have four out and tomorrow will set number five.Between 800 and 1000'

They are legal to trap but not hunt just like any weasel, otter, beaver etc.....:tup: I should have looked before opening my trap :dunno: :chuckle: :tup:
