Title: Couple from today 4-1-07
Post by: billythekidrock on April 01, 2007, 03:31:16 PM
Went for a drive today. Darn weather kept changing from good to down right cold and even a bit snowy. Didn't see any bear sign, but did see a few deer. These two were not very far off the road.

Mmmmmmm bear food.

Yeah I wish I would have gone out today too. Now, if they had called me and told me I drew my spring bear tag, I'd of been out for sure. Just need a little motivation to get out there. Those deer look healthy. Lately the ones I've been seeing just about every day along I-5 look like they have that hair loss disease, but it could just be that this is the time of year they're shedding. I'm not sure, does anybody know if it's normal for a deer to be without half its hair at this time of year? Oh, BTW, speaking of deer along I-5, the other day I saw seven elk along I-5, about 10 miles south of Olympia.  :o

Most of the deer that look like they have hair loss don't. Lots of them have parasites. They are biting and chewing to get at parasites. Lots of times if you get really close you can see the stubble where from a distance it looks bare.
