Title: Rayonier fees
Post by: plugger on February 26, 2014, 07:33:27 PM: I just heard that rainier will be charging an access fee this coming season. Sounds like the new norm. Anyone else catch wind of this. I guess that's better than leasing it all, But still sucks.

Post by: Westsidebowhunter on February 27, 2014, 01:40:32 AM: I also heard this and what i got was basically it will be like m and r where you pay a fee too access the areas and i heard it was going to be all of their land either this year or next which means all the dickey most the sol duc and other areas like goodman so who knows still wont improve the hunting but a good revenue for timber companies i suppose

Just a drop in the bucket compared to all the actual costs of doing business. I believe it is more a way to control the types of people that will frequent their properties. Paying customers would seem to be the type that would be more respectful. It is private property. Good for them, but is there some form of tax incentive on commercial acreage to allow open public access? Are there easements to allow access to publics parcels or waterways? I respect their decision, but choose not to pay.

Post by: plugger on February 27, 2014, 04:37:12 PM: Yep, they pretty much own the west end. If they make the tribes pay, then it may be worth it in a few years. Could actually get to be some nice bulls in there like the old days, But if they get in without the fee's, They wont see a dime of my money. Also, with the logging going on in there the last 10 years, and the roads they were punching in this year, I don't see the need to charge a fee. There making plenty of money. Just more greed
