I'm looking to add a new rifle to the safe. I have been looking at the 7 R.U.M. and was positive I needed one and now I'm not so sure. What are peoples thoughts on this gun?

One of the better long range factory loads available.

Go with the 300 r.u.m rounds are easier to find, and you can always go with a lighter 30 cal bullet :twocents:

I have the 300 r.u.m. and this is why I'm on the fence now.

The 7mm Ultra is a great cartridge but if you already have a .300 RUM, your covered.
-
Look up 7mm STW.

I was considering the STW but I got hung up on the RUM for some reason.

I was in the boat and bought the 300 RUM.

Funny you should ask. I already have a Rem 7mm, and looking to do a custom build for my next rifle. I cant decide, but looking at 300 RUM, or 300WM.

I have a 7mm RUM, it's my go to Deer rifle. The factory barrel was killing deer, way, way out there. I just recently brought in to Benchmark to put a new barrel on it with a few other mods.

It works pretty good on Bears too.

I shot a factory Remington bdl for a couple of years. It was very accurate and hell on deer. I chrono'd factory 140 partitions at 3490.
