A buddy of mine traded for a Custom 6mm built by Mel Doyle of Plumber ID. The action is a Czech VZ24 Mauser action. Has a 22" very heavy bull barrel 1 in 8" twist. I'm not sure who the barrel manufacturer is. The gun is in very good condition and doesn't look like its had more than 50 rounds through it since the work was done. Action, barrel and bottom metal are all blued and in great shape. In a pretty cheap looking synthetic stock. Gun supposedly drives tacks, although he hasn't had a chance to shoot it. Bore and throat look great. Any ideas of what this rifle is worth? I told him $400 to $500. I'm not super familiar with Mauser actions, so I could use some second opinions.

Pictures, need pictures.

Yeah I know that would be helpful. I'm working on getting some.

Id like to see pictures or at minimum list the brand of the components

without seeing pics, but based on your description, i'd be more likely to put the value at $300-350. $500 with a crappy synthetic stock? milsurp rifles usually hold little value other than to their builder. even less with a junky stock. If it has a $400 barrel that would help. Does this include scope?
Mel does nice finishes! had him blue an '06 built on a 1943 BNZ mauser action. A&B barrel, Bell & Carlson stock. less than 100 rounds. Leupold scope. sold it here for less than it cost me to build it.

Add up the cost of parts only, divide by two.....hope for the best
