if someone draws a quality bull moose tag can that person still put in for the antlerless moose tags in later years? Wording in regs is kinda strange to me. "Anyone may apply, except those who have previously harvested a moose in washington state (for exceptions, see below). An individual may only harvest one moose during his or her lifetime. However this restriction is waived for hunters who have previously harvested a moose under an antlerless-only, master hunter, raffle or auction hunt permit."
So as I read it if you draw an Anterless permit first you can still put in for bull permits but not vice versa? I don't get it :dunno:

I think you are reading it right, there was a tread about it a while ago...I will search :twocents:

YES. You may apply for an antlerless moose permit if you have harvested a bull moose previously in Washington.

just worded funny in the regs I guess.

As far as I know you can shoot as many cows as you can draw tags for.

Has anyone that has drawn a cow tag noticed the cow tag option still open when purchasing apps?

When i checked my bull in Spokane Last year he told me that you can shot as many cows as you want but once you harvest a bull you are done harvesting moose except for MH, auction or raffle. Hmm...

Well he was misinformed, you can still apply for cows.

In my opinion a moose is a moose, and if you draw any moose tag, you should be done applying for moose in this state.

Cool. I will still play the antlerless game then.

Knock yourself out, you are on the permanent ignore list like the rest of us Bob. :chuckle:

Clarification: if the cow was killed on an "any moose" permit, you are done. If the cow was killed on an "antlerless only" permit, you can continue to apply and potentially draw.

What if you kill an antlerless bull with an "any moose" permit? ???

Good question. The answer is that you're done if you kill any moose with an "any moose" permit.

Id be willing to bet that's only happened once in this state. :chuckle:
I'd also be willing to bet that WDFW pencil pushers are still scratching their heads trying to figure out a harvest report of a bull moose being killed with zero points on each side.
-
A calf bull could be anterless, and would be legal with an "any moose" permit.
-
Huntnphool, there you go. You're mature bull moose probably got counted as a calf. :chuckle:
