Alright we have all know how truck owners are and the Make of Truck they drive. As somebody so kindly pointed out to me this morning the reason he doesn't like Bowtech is kinda like that. So i figured let's have some fun. What kind of bow do you shoot? How fast does it shoot with how many grain arrows? I'm not talking IBO speed here. Those who have chroned there bow will know. I'll start.
I shoot a Bowtech Insanity CPXL at 299 fps with 448 grain arrows at 65#. I will mind you i also have a 32 inch draw length!
-
You're going to make me go crono my bow now. :bash:
-
Bear Legion. Shoots fast enough to kill deer
-
Browning bow, string is broke, and have no idea how fast it shoots at 68lbs. I have not used it since WDFW eliminated cows as legal game in the Colockum during bow season.
-
blowtech allegiance 30.5" draw? :dunno: cant remember. have it set at 65# 340 gr arrows . I don't know how fast it shoots, all I care is putting up a decent group everytime I shoot it.
-
2013 Hoyt Spyder, 30ish draw...don't remember my total arrow weight....crony at 285...heavy arrows.
-
Bowtech destroyer 350, 65lbs, 29 draw, 440 gr arrow, 290 something fpsWhen I run my 3/d arrows at 352 gr it's running around 320fps
-
Fred Bear Truth series bow. Super quiet and I shoot it well. No clue about speed, but plenty fast. 65lbs and 30in draw.
-
:beatdeadhorse:
-
What did that horse do to you? Piss in your Cheerios?
-
Bowpredator idk where you shoot 3d but in WSAA tournaments you can't be shooting over 310!
-
Shoot an insanity cpxl 72lbs 30.5" draw was shooting my 470gr arrow at 289fps. Think ill end up a little fast once all is said and done
-
Bear Assault with a 440 gr Beaman Hunter ICS set at 70 lbs with a 29 inch draw. Only shoots about 279 fps but it's fun.
-
Use to shoot that set up at most of your local club shoots, most of them run their own rules and never had a posting of speed restrictions. Have never shot a WSAA sanctioned event . Run a different set up now that maybe does 290 with 3/d arrows. Its just a more forgiving bow.
-
Damn! D-rock do you notice all the fast bows are bowtechs! :chuckle:
-
:yeah: :stirthepot: :stirthepot: :stirthepot: :stirthepot: :chuckle:
-
Matrix G3 at 78# and 29.5". Get just under 295 fps shooting 475 gr FMJs
-
I prefer my right arm. Compound bows are for weenies. I can throw an arrow or spear faster then any of you guys can shoot with your expensive bows and I am much more accurate too. If I can see the animal with my naked eye then they are in range. :kneel:

It takes years of practice along with meditation and a strict diet of spinach for strength and cheetah steaks for speed.
-
Crap. Guess all this broccoli and jaguar is no good then :dunno:

Nope, but your pee might disorient them long enough to get an arrow into one :chuckle:
-
My list might take me all day to type.
My slowest WA legal bow would be a Truth2 64# 400 grain arrow @ 276.43
Fastest WA legal bow would be a Motive 7 68# 405 grain arrow @ 309.46
As of today my favorite WA legal bow would be Experience 62# 390 grain arrow @ 295.76
Speed's calculated by sight-in 20 and 100 yards using Archers Advantage. Most chrono's I've used will give me an extra 5-8 fps over AA.
-
Bear Encounter made in 2012
27" draw, 70# draw weight, 422 grain arows, FOC?
IBO 310, real speed :dunno: maybe 250?
-
Yeah, well mine is bigger than all of yours and shoots a bigger....ah projectile than all yours. :chuckle:

It's all about the diameter of the projectile, not the speed. Micro diameter projectile :bdid:

Quite possibly the best bow Bear has ever made  Mine is Canada/Wyoming legal :chuckle: 70# 390 grain arrow @ 303.67. Sure puts the hurtin' on caribou, sheep, deer and antelope! So killer it's deemed unfair and illegal in the state of Washington ;)

Agreed.
Bear has made some major leaps the past 3yrs. But they have had some QC issue bows hittin the shelves. Glad they've stepped it up though.

Growing pains I think. I spoke with my contacts there mid season last year. They were concerned because they couldn't hire and train good assembly workers fast enough to meet the demand. When value and performance collide things can get pretty exciting pretty fast!
I remember similar issues from just about all the major companies in years with huge growth spurts. One of the more amazing ones was when an entire order (at least 20 bows) from Xi came in with the cams on upside down (left hand orientation for right hand bows). Once had a Hoyt come back from warranty repair with the same issue. Took me a while to realize why the yoke was on the bottom limb. Kept looking at it saying, "Something's wrong!" Felt like an idiot it took me more than a second to figure it out - I think they revoked my genius I.D. card for that :chuckle: When PSE came out with the a-symmetrical idler wheel (awesome idea btw) I flipped more than one around that was installed backward. All seemed to happen when those companies were experiencing huge growth in a short period of time.
I settled on my Bear VIP bow today and got it ordered. Was back and forth with the Venue and Agenda 7 as well as 60 or 70# for months. Finally chose to go with the 60# Venue in Shadow black. That new S13 single cam was just too much for me to pass up for 10 fps in speed. Hoping it will replace my Darkhorse as the new blind bow of choice. I really like the smooth draw and lighter weight when stuck in a hot box all day waiting for a shot. Archers Advantage says I should expect 285 with a 6.5 grain arrow (4# less draw weight and almost 10 fps gain from the same arrow in the Darkhorse). Feeling sorry for those turkeys and antelope already!

Mathews Z-7 Xtreme. 440g 28 draw 70# and chrono hits low 280's. 290 with 420grains. Seems pretty good. Plenty Fast for me. Best part is its not a bowtech! :chuckle:
-
2012 PSE EVO 7 30" 60lb shoots 408gr gold tips 285fps. Oh and nothin but a hummin Cummins.

Sounds like a good name for an arrow shaft. I like it!

Well as for the Bowtech I used to shoot a Martin but realisically i had only two good choices. I have an actual 32 inch draw. So I could chose from the PSE Freak or The Bowtech CPXL. I went with the Bowtech and I love it!

you had several hoyt choices. Carbon matrix long draw

That bowtech is not allowed in my house this weekend it can stay outside :chuckle:
-
I see. Doesnt Mathews have a z-9 or something for long draws? If not they should. :bash:

The Mathews Z9 is a piece of pooh poop! But the MR8 is a very nice piece of equipment. The CPXL has more speed than both the MR8 and the Hoyt long draw, has a better wall than the Hoyt, longer A2A than the Mathews and more dead in the hand than either the Hoyt or the Mathews.
The MR8 does have an 8" brace height and the C.Matrix +LD 7.5" which is sweet for the short bow stability when you have that long of draw length. The Carbon Matrix is almost 6.5 ounces lighter than the CPXL and the MR8 which is nice. But that's at a cost of about $77.00 an ounce plus tax!
I'd give the edge to the CPXL only because of the grip and balance. But I don't think you could make a wrong decision with any of them. All three are great bows!

Someone doesn't want their short draw Hoyt to feel inadequate :'( That would be like parking your Hyundai next to a Lamborghini. You and your Hyundai always feel better about yourselves when you're parked beside a Yugo. Or in this case a Z7. :chuckle:

PSE SINISTER 324 fps 350 grain arrow
