Title: September Photo of the Month contest

PHOTO OF THE MONTH CONTEST September 2007

Please enter your favorite photo into our photo of the month contest.

-The photo must have been taken by the entrant within the last 12 months.
- The photo must be of wildlife or of scenery.
-Photo size should be 800x600 pixels or LESS
-2 entries per contestant are allowed per month.
-Entries must be submitted by midnite of the 27th of the current month in order to qualify for that Months contest.
-Photos of Washington material will receive preference in judgeing as the winner will be posted on the front of a Washington site.
-Previous entries will not be eligible for future photo of the month contests.
-The winner of the previous months contest is not eligible for the next months contest. (August's winner cannot win in September, but can win in October.)

The photos will be evaluated by a panel of Judges made up of Boneaddict, Jackelope, Billy the Kid Rock, Huntwa, and Sisu. The winner (NO TIES) will be announced as soon as we come to a majority decision.

The Winner will have their photo posted on the front page and get a free patch.

Post by: sisu on September 07, 2007, 09:04:19 AM: Love the double shovel on the last picture. Check out the feet. Caribou are a wonder of nature. Walk across quaking bog where we pop through and swim like the dickens, the hooves can dig through frozen terrain for food or give a wallop to someone trying to eat them. Not as formidable as a moose but still a neat creature. From the terrain I'd guess it's NE Washington or NW Idaho but only the picture taker knows for sure.

Post by: flashover52 on September 13, 2007, 09:21:47 PM: Yes, the photos were taken at Trek NW or NW Trek. You guys are good!! Was up there labor day weekend with my wife and 2 year old son. I wish I could say I took them out in the field but I haven't lived out here long enough to know where an elk herd like that lives yet.

I did however play a bit of a dirty trick on my brother-in-law and another buddy who decided to go back to OR bow hunting this year where they've been for the past 10 years. They just moved to WA last year so I tried to convince them to stay on this side as I didn't want to pay the out of state tags for OR to go with them. Boy they called me right up after seeing some other pictures of the big satellite bulls.

I still haven't told them where I took the pictures or that I was "scouting" with the family from a three section bus. All I've told them is that the land was private, I discovered a means to access the property and that the bulls will most certainly be around through the season. I'll give them the "full story" after they get back from OR!!

Yeah.....kind of rotten..... :chuckle:

I raise birds and thats an awesome shot. I fixed it with my free software at work that is on everyones PC, so I figure not too much of an advantage. Us mods talked it over and for this month if folks need help fixing their pics, we'll do it( or at least I will). Next month however you guys are on your own.

Boy I tell you that bruise on his arm had to hurt. I tried to take a picture of it but he wouldn't let me.

Honestly it was tough judgeing this month. With the peak season coming up, I expect October and November to even be more fun to judge.

Thanks for all of the entries everyone. Even if you don't think your shots are that great, get them on here, either in the contest or in the regular forum. We all love pics just as much as you do.
