New to the site and first post. Where is a good place or site to find maps of public lands? I looked of several sites and found some maps at rei.

:yeah:
Now if you're talking turkey hunting in the NE corner of the state : There is a lot of public land in NE Wa, and if you Goggle www.mapmet.com (http://www.mapmet.com) it will show you where and you can also overlay it on Google Earth.
Also they list a bunch of sources for maps in the back of the big game laws. National Forest service maps can be obtained thru ranger stations or on line.

You can also look on county assessor websites - mapsifter most of them call it. These maps show land ownership and are very handy.

Also you can talk to places like Cabelas big five etc.... Get a Garmin with the HUNT WA chip

If you find a spot and want to pick up a detailed map of that area check out Metzger Maps in Seattle Pike Place Market. They have EVERY map you could want of the entire state.

While there are lots of map outlets, usually, you figure out the general area you are going to hunt, then find maps of the area. WDFW has gohunt, which will give you some ideas. Once you have narrowed your search, you can get a map.
Also, look at the feel free to hunt, hunting with written permission, register to hunt sites.
