Maybe the cows can now file for assistance from the government and get some help eradicating the wolves.

So what more endangered animal also suffers ?  What impact is the introduction of wolves causing both in domestic animals and wild game?  Can ranchers claim a loss of revenue due to PTSD reducing their production?

++++Both researchers called for further research into ways of successfully managing both wolves and livestock so they can co-exist.++

Tralalala, can't we all just get along. Somehow I just can't get m head around wolves and cows "co - existing".

That is nothing compared to the psychological trauma suffered by Enumclaw livestock.  The Corvalis cows should thank their lucky stars.

If wolves and cows are ever going to coexist then foxes in chicken houses, ants in your pants, rice in the desert, child molesters in an orphanage will all work well.  This will never work and our ancestors that fixed it never suspected the human race would ever be so stupid to bring the cancer back.
This will go down in history as the biggest. Boondoggle the US Fish and Wildlife ever undertook.
Much more suffering will have to happen before we return to our sanity.

Quote
"When wolves kill or injure livestock, ranchers can document the financial loss," Cooke said. "But wolf attacks also create bad memories in the herd and cause a stress response known to result in decreased pregnancy rates, lighter calves and a greater likelihood of getting sick. It's much like post-traumatic stress disorder - PTSD - for cows."

A 2010 OSU economic analysis estimated that wolves in northeastern Oregon could cost ranchers up to $261 per head of cattle, including $55 for weight loss and $67 for lower pregnancy rates, according to John Williams, an OSU extension agent in Wallowa County who conducted that study.

I think you are missing the point, there just needs to be more habitat, maybe a bigger hen house, pants, much larger orphanages etc.. Just ask WDFW's brain-washed biologists.

Well sh*t...

Is this good news? ... Wolves cause cows to have PTSD, therefore wolves are bad. Kill wolves.

Or bad news? ... Cows can have PTSD, therefore killing animals may be bad. Don't kill animals.

I could see it going either way... :chuckle:
Clearly it's win-win for anti hunters.
But I call BS on the whole thing.
