Tried to go buy my multi season permit and special apps today and my multi season option was not available :bash:. I thinks its because when I put in for bear permits I purchased the deer elk cougar and bear package all at once to save a few bucks. So I already have an archery deer tag. I with the game department would fix this problem I'm sure I'm not the only one that will be calling.

You have to send your archery deer tag to the state and then they will allow you to purchase the multi season tag.
-
Sounds like a pain in the @$$

I'm in the same boat D-Rock , but I was under the impression that I could take my archery deer tag to a dealer and give them the tag and buy the multi tag . Any body know ?
-
Yeah if you want to purchase the multi season tag. Yo have to give up ur general tag.
-
Just go to a license dealer and exchange your old tag for the new tag. You need to do it during business hours, I believe, because the dealer will need to call the WDFW in Olympia.
Next year don't select the deer tag yet when you purchase the package. You can get the tag later if you don't draw the multi.

happened to me last year. Had to go into license dealer when WDFW was open. they call them up and cancel the Archery tag and then i could by the multiseason tag. Dont have to send anything in to WDFW.

There's a box you had to check if you wanted to select your tag at that time. If you check the box, then you have to choose archery, muzzleloader, or modern). Or if you're still unsure, you don't check the box, and you then have to get your tag later. Which is what I did. I paid for all my licenses and tags already but have not selected my deer and elk tags yet. I will do that when I purchase my special permit app's.

:yeah:
I don't get my tags, archery or muzzy until after the permit options come out just in case I want to switch it up for year and go after something that is new. It mostly applies for elk whether I want to go archery or muzzy but I hold off on deer also just in case. Never even thought of the multiseason problem with getting the tags early.

I've never once turned in my general deer tag to get the multiseason.

I called earlier today. Like others have said you just need to turn your old tag in so they can void it before you purchase your multi season. The email I received said I needed to call WDFW before buying my multi season but all the call did was tell me what I already knew. Nothing official in the phone call.

Not on me at the same time, but I have never turned one in. I have bought one I'm pretty sure every year since they came out, I always do my license purchasing online.

Drock, why do you want to buy your multi tag this early? I guess it makes sense if you want to apply for different weapons on your quality deer, but if not just keep the tag you want (weapon) till after the draws. If you draw your special permit then you won't have to buy the multi deer, if you don't draw, then go exchange your deer tag for the multiple tag. Save ya 140 dollars!

Do you have an archery tag now that you bought with your license and have again been drawn for the multiseason? Maybe they just caught on this year that people like you had two tags in their possession, not in the field but you did get issued an archery tag first online, then were drawn for multiseason and were allowed to then purchase the multiseason tag and still retain the original archery tag.
On a side note I purchased my license online this year and they sent my bear and cougar tags, I was waiting on multiseason draw so I didn't get the deer and elk tags. Anyway there was a problem with the printer and my tags came offset on the paper with no date on the side to notch. A couple of days later new tags and a letter came saying to destroy the other tags that were printed with no date to notch, that they made and error and it was illegal for me to keep the misprinted tag or use it for a second animal.

Two years ago I had to turn in my general tag in order to purchase my multi season tag.
