Title: Survey results

Hunting Season survey results are out, some good news there and some not so. The response below surprised me. A guess it shouldn’t since ML hunters are less than 10% of the hunting population.

1. Make the ML season longer to off set the lower percentage of open GMU's.

or

2. Make some of the 58% of the GMU's ML only.

I can't believe the hunting pamphlet and permit due date results, I thought for sure more people would like to put in and find out earlier. :dunno:

I don't MZ hunt (yet) but have strongly considered it the last couple of years, but haven't due to poor seasons(including limited GMU's), and equip. restrictions. At least it looks like the bullet restrictions will be eased up on.

Post by: shag on November 26, 2008, 06:47:36 PM: It's an Outrage.... The amount of trophy muledeer tags avaliable to frontstuffers. Total *censored*. Archers get what a month damn near for early elk? We get one week. Don't even want to hear the inline advantage excuess. That again is BS. I've got buddies with aftermarket Green Mtn barrels on traditional frontstuffers with a faster twist than my inline dose. Mine has a 1-32 or 38 twist. Their green mtn barrels have a 1-24 twist. Not to mention how many grains of powder are really benefitting your velocity with 150gr loads. I doubt over 130 do much. Hell I'm watching sparks out the end of the barrel with 100gr loads at dark.

Archers don't gain much with these newer compounds do they. Yea right, hell they barley out perform one's from 20 yrs ago. lol. Better close more units for archers and shorten their seasons. Their bows now have to much performance to make it fair. How many 'f ing tags do they give out in the Entiat?? Some of these ass holes are slinging 80 yd shots at trophy bucks. Seen way to many elk in my time with half an arrow stuck in them two weeks after any bow season is over. Ok, my rant is over. >:(

I am only good for a hundred with my inline I am sure other people don't mind shooting further, but not me hell I can't see that far with open sights anyway.

This is funny to me . If it is so easy with " todays bows " than quit bitchin and pick one up . Ohh , then you wouldnt have anything to complain about . :dunno:

I don't hunt bow or mf so I don't tell them what or what not they can use. lets make it easy rifle is rifle, bow goes back to long bows cedar arrows ml back to flintlock and everybodys happy for once.

any archer who releases an arrow at a big game animal at that distance is the reason shag sees arrows sticking out of elk, although I have seen them pull them out(reason for no barbs) they break off, fall out, get knocked out by brush, get broken or bent when the animal beds etc. and believe either he is an archery hater and its B.S. or he is in an area with a lot of poachers. (cannot hear bows vs. rifle)

Lots of sarcazim in my rant. Why the hell would I wanta pick up a "today bow" when to 45yds I can out shoot my friends with my 15+yr old Martin Firecat. They got Matthews, BowTechs and Hoyts of today. Sure their aroows look like they are on a frorzen rope and mine got a few feet of arch. They get pissed real quick and start fuggin with their *censored*t. I tell em , don't go away mad, just go get more money have a drink and come back

Oh yea, they think a whisker Biscuitt sucks. :) Boy oh boy them fall aways sure kick ass.. :chuckle:

Where are you seeing animals w/arrows sticking out of them? My guess is someplace where there are a lot of hunters. A few bad examples make us all look bad.

State land outa Longveiw. Every year. Per capita Cowlitz county has more hunters than anywhere in the state. Prolly no doubt the most scum also. That state land is close to town and gets year round traffic.
