I am moving to Washington to retire. Where is a good spot to live with some excellent waterfowl hunting?
-
Welcome hope you saved well for your hunting and fishing licenses. I am not a water fowl hunter but the Tri City area if you are a city person not farm from the major migratory fly ways. A lot less people that western washington. I have lived alot of my life in western Washington. A nice place to visit but cost and population very concentrated on the north/south running Interstate 5 corridor.

Moses lake is pretty central and tons of birds.
-
Tri Cities in Eastern Washington. PM me if you would like more info.
-
Second Moses Lake, Wenatchee is nice too.

Other than water fowl, how do you want to spend your time. What type of weather are you looking for?

That would be my vote.....best waterfowl hunting, plus centrally located for lots of other outdoor recreation. Lot of public access as well.

Moses Lake or Tri Cities are both good choices.

I notice you're from Sterling, I used to live in the factory house there at the old Great Western Sugar Company. It's been a few years (1973-ish, I was in kindergarten at Sexton Elem?), we moved out to Iliff 1/2 way through, and then to Ft Collins a couple years after that.
Eastern WA is very similar climate to what you've got there, except less tornado warnings and blizzards. Western WA is rain and more rain followed by periods of rain.

Mark I would really like to chat with you sometime about hunting out there. The differences between here and there. The different areas ect. Give me a call sometime. 970-580-3271.
