Title: The Islands?
Post by: TeacherMan on November 26, 2008, 12:37:24 PM: Does anyone hunt in the San Juans? I tried bowhunting Orcas last Thanksgiving and saw tons of deer but no legal area...

What are your thoughts on this area... I have just been looking for an area with a high buck population and I know they are there, but the never ending factor, public land... :bash:

If you have access to some private land it would be pretty easy hunting but I don’t know of any public land and most of the population are tree huggers that don’t go for killing poor little deer.

Post by: Little Fish on November 26, 2008, 01:58:13 PM: Take your boat to Cypress....something like 4000 acres of DNR land on the island. I'd launch in launch in Anacortes and run up to the island for a day trip or overnighter. I can't recall for sure, but I think the run from Anacortes is only an hour or so. A trip like this is on my radar screen, but I haven't done it yet.
