As of 25 Nov:
Chelan: 1 female or 4 total cats remain
Okanogan: 2 females or 9 total cats
Ferry/Opens 1 Jan: 4 females or 10 total cats
Stevens/Pend Oreille: 4 females or 11 total
Klicitat: Harvest is closed, pursuit only
-
wow
-
Enlighten a newb would ya...
The number left, ie, in Chelan (4) means, 4 more may be taken before the GMU is closed? Male or female?
Thanks...was just curious.
-
if 1 female gets shot it ends and is pursuit only
-
They can take 4 toms, or 1 female and then it's pursuit season only. However once the female is taken the harvest is over, it then becomes pursuit only.
-
sounds like if we want to cut down the lion population a little, folks need to stop shooting the females....
-
what does pursuit only mean?
-
you can run them but you cant kill em
-
How do they come-up with the quota? Seems awfully low to me.
-
Yeah, there shouldn't be a quota at all. :bash:
-
Spit in your hand and then slap it, that is about as scientific as they get, IMO! :twocents:
-
Fred, Hey you got some snow that I heard! Whooo..
Bummer about Qouta. Those people should not shoot Female! :bash:

there shouldn't be a draw for hound hunting cougars. everyone that buys a cougar tag should be able to kill one cougar with or without hounds.
i hope they start giving out wolf tags within the next few years before they rape the elk and deer populations like they did in Yellowstone.

That really makes sense doesn't it. :dunno:
-
I know this post is for cougars, but do bobcats have the same quota? That would be a kick to run bobcat with dogs.

Nope no quota, because you can't run them in this state at all. It was banned the same time they did baiting for bears and running lions with dogs. :bash: :bash: :bash:

Thanks for the info Machias. I didnt know they took the bobcats out along with the bear. Kinda makes a guy wonder if they will issue permits for them like the do cougars. We can hope right?

I highly doubt it. :'(
