Went out hiking with my hiking buddy/Baxter today and found this shed. We hiked down a side road to the end and just walked up an animal trail about 25' before we found this shed. It was on the trail in plain sight and had been there at least since last year. Lots of people have driven up this road but obviously never looked beyond the edge of the road. I will go back and search this area more in depth. If this one that was so obvious was left, I would put money that there are more in there.

Last year? Looks pretty brown to be a year old.

It's mossy on the other side. This picture is how I found it. I posted the first pic with my dog because I like those the best.

Great color. Nice shed.... Could it be seen from a.rig?

No, it could not be seen from a rig. You probably had to walk 10 or 15 feet from the edge of the road. My good luck. It was not in thick stuff at all, I felt very lucky that it was still there.

Damn things are easy to miss. I walked right by one this year, and my kid picked it up. I'm glad I missed it though, he was stoked to find his first elk shed.

Nice find. I stopped at a spot by the river more less to take a leak and look at the river. Found an old one 20 yds from the truck on the easiest spot to get to the river in all of hancock. Then 5 more within 1/2 mile. I always feel like I gotta put on 20 miles to get into em. Looks like simple and ez works too.
