Saw these 2 bucks running together last night! It was the first 2 bucks with new growth this year! Got me ready for hunting season to be here! Got that good old adrenaline pumping again! I think its fairly decent growth for right now. One buck was right at the point of his ears, and the other was quite a bit outside of his ears! What do you guys think? Also how long will bucks hang out together, that's one thing I've never really played attention to or wondered! The first picture is easily my favorite! I got about 20 pictures of these guys before they ran off

I saw a whitetail yesterday that was already outside his ears!
-
Nice man, out of curiosity how did you take these photos?
-
I actually took these through my binos.. I'd say 200 yards away probably give or take a few yards! I just cropped out the black ring from the binos so you could see more of the deer

Your giant bucks will have some substantial bone on their heads right now. I have small whitetails past there g2's Id expect big 5x5 or bigger to have g3 and g4 starts
-
Yeah that's what I was guessing.. I figured these to be just you're average 3 point muley. I'm hoping anyway. It was just nice to see the first bucks of the season out in the spot you like to go look around in.. I think the bigger of the 2 might end up being a fairly decent wide buck hopefully he grows a 3rd point :chuckle: :dunno:

went camping up by marble mount over the weekend and saw a heard of elk and the lead bull had antlers alomst 1-2 feet long. had about 8-10 others with him right off hwy 20

Here's the one I posted.... He's got some real good growth
-
I agree the big one will be a 16 - 18 inch buck and will most likely be a decent 3 point - knowing the area. the other one needs a year so leave him alone. they always look bigger this time of year. but a legal buck is a legal buck ....
-
I think they are about average, and to answer your question about how long they stay together. From my observations, the stick together in bachelor groups until about the end of september. By the second weekend of October they are usually split up for the most part, tho you still see multiple bucks running together during modern season. Most of these will be your smaller bucks tho.

That black tail looks like he will be a dandy buck! and yeah I'm hoping to catch these to again on camera, I'll be setting it up this weekend just to hopefully watch the growth, I'm hoping he grows into a decent 3 point! The smaller one I'm not to interested in looks like he needs to grow up some! And buglebuster that's kind of what I was thinking, I guess through my years of hunting I never really played attention to how long the bucks will stay together I was guessing about mid September they would split there ways and disappear till the day after the season ends :bash:

good luck brother, i hope you get to harvest the one you want... patience is the key...

Have trailcam pics of bulls from the first week of may with fresh shed wounds (?), and then several like this from last weekend....growing fast.
-
Looks like a couple decent bucks! I set my cameras up last weekend, so I am hoping to catch some bucks!
