Great looking calls.
-
Damn...there is enough talent in the call making department on this board to choke a horse.
GORGEOUS stuff. My Riser on my longbow is made out of Cocobolo.....sp? Love that stuff.
-
Thanks guys.
All my calls sound good before I pack them up. Satisfaction guaranteed.
Bone, I've got a sweet knife coming up with a fantastic piece of Coco for a grip. Keep an eye out for it! You might need it to coordinate your longbow hunting kit!
-
Nice products...
-
Steve,
Who made the knife sheath?
I have a small skinner that needs a new one.
Very interesting looking "rainshadow" toneboard. I'd like to test drive one of those.

Huyva Paiva, Sisu! Thanks!
Krusty, the sheath came with the blank from that company... I think they use it for several of their blanks. It's a nice sheath. Not super heavy or super fancy, but quality, and nice.
My howler toneboards are a little lacking in the big dog, dominant, old male sounds, but for young male, female, puppy, lonesome howls, etc. they work super. I'm really tickled with the way they're turning out. And, they pitch up right off the scale, so distress all the way up to rodent squeaks are fantastic. My distress toneboards are basically the howlers shortened.
Still working on a two others, one of each, but haven't put them on any calls for sale yet.
-
Steve,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I assumed you were using one style/model of toneboard, and didn't notice a difference between howlers and distress, thanks for pointing that out. :)
I like the long sleek, comfortable, look of the ones pictured here.

Krusty,
Here's an example of the distress board. It's an acrylic board, a moose antler ring, and a buff horn tip bell. Goes so high it literally hurts your ears just on pitch!

Shoot me a pm with a pic and price when you get that Coco done. If I have any money left from my season, I might just be interested. I'm interested in a price on a moose howler and that grunt as well. I'm leaving this week, so if you shoot me something and I don't respond for about 2 weeks, don't be offended. The link worked to your website, but once there those links to bring up your individual pages didn't work. I didn't know if you knew this or not, and thought you might want to know.
Thanks
-
Thanks Bone, Been gone for a week. Took the Alaska Cruise with my Fam and Wife's Dad. Great weather! Great trip!
Got back and had a friend of my wife on the recorder saying her family up a certain road had located 3 different cougar this past week. I located 2 in another location the week before. If I ever get a chance to hunt... it's looking promising this year!
The moose howler is $65. The Mallee Burl grunt is $55.
Thanks for the feedback on the website. I don't know what to do about those hover buttons. It seems you have to click once to activate the button, then click again to link it.
The Coco knife is done, nice big skinner. Still need to build a sheath for it. Soon...
-
Got any pics?
-
Sorry Bone, real life is totally cramping my style lately!
Still don't have a sheath, but here's a couple of the knife and a quartersawn Coco/Acrylic call....

I have images in my head of a black kydex sheath with rawhide japanese samurai style wrap. The knife is a handful, 9 1/2" overall. It's a beauty.
-
Damn gorgeous. I'm afraid to ask how much. You do beautiful work.
-
I don't know how much yet. It won't be exorbitant, but the blanks and materials are not cheap. I'm thinking it'll be 70 ish, but I just don't know yet.
The call is $35.
-
Keep me posted when you come to a conclusion. I need another knife like I need a whole in the head, but that is just palin gorgeous.
-
Done...

Cool, Thanks! I'll try it. I've been wondering about that. I thought it might have been because my FrontPage is from 98. Someday I'll catch back up!

What blade did you pick up Jack?
-
the black handled one in the pic.
not sure if it'll get bloody this year, but maybe
-
Get out there in the rain and get er done.
-
trouble is i have to rely on somebody else to get it done. i already got it done, and didn't have the knife in time, so i bloodied my old dog. thank god i won't need that POS anymore.
i may end up wandering around during the late archery with some friends, but i ain't getting my shiny new knife bloody on their deer :chuckle: . thats their job...i'll have enough working hacking it up for them after the fact.

Good point. I guess I would have remember that if some guy would have sent me a picture. ;)
