Title: Youth Elk
Post by: Elkterd on June 12, 2014, 02:36:57 PM: My daughter drew her first elk tag ,a youth grays river cow tag in Feb., she also drew a huckleberry youth deer tag, and a roosevelt second deer tag, :IBCOOL: not bad for a thirteen year olds first draw, she had three points in all catagories.

Haven't you noticed over the last 20 years that the youth have gotten a lot more opportunities? Special youth only draws, Special youth only general seasons allowing them better chances at success, not to mention the chance to participate in nearly all the rest of the seasons and draws as everybody else. While I encourage wdfw to get the kids involved more and more because they are the future, I also remember 30 years ago when none of these opportunities existed for the youth of Washington. Be thankful they have extended opportunities they have these days that we never did.
