Title: Badlands Summit Legit?
Post by: herdbull33 on June 13, 2014, 05:35:24 PM
I'm in need of a new hiking/ multi-day hunting pack. Anybody use the Summit? I have the 2200 and love it but I've heard the old 4500 and new summit have a plastic internal frame? Thanks.

i havent used one, just going off specs... but price vs weight vs product reputation doesnt seem like a great balance with piece.. i would look at other options if it were me.

In that price range, I would keep looking.  Eberlestock makes a good off the rack pack.  Take a look at the rei xt if you don't need camo.

I have the 4500 and I'm using it on my elk hunt this year. The Summit is lighter than the 4500 and the fabric is different as well, hence the reason for the difference in weight. They have a polycarbonate frame in both the 4500 and the Summit. I'll let you know how my 4500 performs after I hopefully have a bull packed in it.
