Well, where will you be resting sore legs this fall? Luxurious base camp, minimalistic/perhaps mobile base camp, home base bedroom and driving to hunt spots, back country camp, tiny town motel, back of truck canopy? What's your elk camp gonna be like this year?
-
On a Cabela's deluxe XL Cot in a 12x12 Alaknak tent. In a nice spot deep in the Bethel unit. My bro pulled a muzzy cow tag for that unit and so the rest of us (Dad and I) will be spotting for him and huntin for spikes...

Where ever I land is good . Tent trailer or back seat any place is good in elk country
-
On a xl cot. With a wood stove in cook shack.
Big Buddy in tent
And a extra thick loft flannel bag.

Depends where I'm hunting, if it's remote then tent or cabin if available, sometimes the back of my truck. Otherwise I like hotels, hot water, TV, power, cold beer, heated rooms, comfy beds, :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
Ill be in a alaknak, or in the back of my suburban most trips, maybe hanging from some trees in a hammock, or in my travel trailer ic I finish the remodel ever.

Ghosthunter, I think I recognize your camp...You guys have a deer camp with the same signage?
-
Will be a mixture of a base camp and sleeping out under the stars
-
I'm hunting 40 minutes from home. Plenty of adventure to be found on a tight schedule, with a warm bed and hot shower every day. Weekends and nights I got out 9 days for modern deer last year. And I slept like a baby.
-
Interesting question.....I know 1 week will be in a bivy, the following week maybe out of a truck camp or out of a bivy again...then in October it will either be out of a canvas tent for two weeks with a random spike out trip....who knows...maybe another bivy trip in November :dunno:
The one thing I do know is I wont be too far from some dandy bulls each an every night

This is camp.

RV, man. Hot showers, kitchen, no set up. Fires in the pit outside. Roughing it, totally!

Hard to miss us. If the sign is out it is us. We confirgure our set up differently depending on number of folks in camp.
But where ever you see our logo that is a camp member.
Stop in and we will buy you a soda.

I like it. Is there a wood roof under the tarp?
-
Truck camper in the valley next to the river, hoping to bivy a couple of nights also.
-
I'm planning on a motel, hotel, back of truck, 12x16 wall tent and one man tent and a couple of day trips from home this season. Busy.
-
Backpack tent/wall tent/house/house/wall tent.
That'll be my plan.

It has changed over the years. Roughly every year actually. One year was a 27' fifth wheel that only the stove worked. Next year was an enclosed cargo trailer that worked surprisingly well. Next year was an old military style wall tent. Then an old 15' trailer with nothing but a stove. Now it's either with my buddy in his 17' travel trailer or this year with my old man and his 27' travel trailer. We have definitely upgraded over the years.

Probably in an area with some masher ticks and mosquitoes.
-
Two likely places. First is my bed at home and then driving 25 minutes to some private property. The other is a bed at my parent's place at the coast. Definitely roughing it either way!

Something like this.

Historically, we've always hunted out of a wall tent, but this season we're going to start bivy hunting in our area... Hoping to cut some time traveling in and out of the absolute jungle that we hunt on the westside... This will also afford us the ability to go deeper and not worry about having enough time to make our way out before dark.

Mount Margaret Backcountry for me this year. Usually its a wall tent base camp in the Siouxon for my posse. I'm used to the deep dark woods, so the high country will be a bit of a change.

I change it up very year. My brother usually cancels on me last minute every year! If he actually makes it we'll be base camping in a small tent with day trips out the locked gates everyday. If/when he cancels and I'm solo yet another year, I usually just set my cot up in front of the gate I'm parked at under the stars and hit it in the morning. I may head up into a wilderness area for deer this year, probably a quick 3 day hunt with camp on my back and just plop down where ever I am once it gets dark.. I like those hunts better than the logging roads... The girl doesn't like my solo trips into the back country so I try and keep them short. Makes life much better at home that way! Couple months to go!! I can't wait!!!! COME ON SEPTEMBER!!!!

Back country tent camp in the wilderness.
