Post by: RadSav on June 22, 2014, 04:36:34 PM: I have not seen any really BAD arrows in a few years. All manufacturers seem to be either making a decent arrow or importing decent arrows. Some are straighter than others and some are more consistent than others, but you can get away with quite a bit when shooting all carbon...it's kinda weird in a good way.

My personal choice over the past ten years has been Carbon Express Maxima (now Blue Streak) or Easton A/C/C. Problem with the Blue Streak is they are difficult to make legal weight in Washington. The Maxima Hunter is the camo version and is a little better for making weight though I do have to watch it if I'm shooting over 68#. The Mayhem and the A/C/C are similar in weight so if you wanted Carbon Express straightness and spine consistency plus making sure you can abide by Washington's ridiculous rule that could be an option too. Though at that weight I prefer the A/C/C Pro-Hunter due to the superior X-Nock.

None of that means I have changed my mind about the Beman ICS arrow. I still think it is the very best arrow for the money. Blackhawk is putting some pressure on that title though!

Post by: snarkybull on June 22, 2014, 05:14:44 PM: I like my CE mayhems. and the CE terminator lites before they were discontinued. I, too, push the edges of whats legal. 67 lbs draw weight is as high as I can go with my short draw length and arrow length.

Per Radsav's suggestion I put Easton short knocks, and GP inserts for total weight of 420gr (100 gr broadhead)and if I recall 11.5 foc. Shame on me, but the bulldog collar already saved an arrow.

Post by: Come Get Some on June 22, 2014, 09:11:49 PM: My entire family shoots Easton ACC's. Tough,Straight and stiff. Good penetration,durable and great components. I have shot many different types of arrows. I will never hunt with anything else.

Look at the Easton Da Torch arrows. I'm shooting a 330 spine shaft and it only weighs 7.9 grs per inch. I'm shooting it at 28" and 61# draw weight. I'm getting about 275+ fps thru my chrono at 375 total weight. With 100 gr pt it's right at 12.5 FOC. They're shooting very good for me.
