So who all is going down to shoot the R100 July 5/6. We have a group that is headed down.
-
I'll be there. Heading down Friday morning.
-
My nephew is going.....He had a blast last year!
-
Hey D, you taking your trailer down, are you camping with anyone?
-
Yep taking the trailer. I have a buddy coming down and pitching a tent.
-
I went last year and a lot of fun. I have to work this year otherwise I'd be there.

The R100 will be at Capitol City Bowmen in Littlerock (just south of Olympia) on July 5/6. You can pre-register by going to the R100 website. If you pre regester it saves you about an hour standing in the un registered line. Then call Sherri Crisp to put you on the camping registration list so you have a spot .
-
I'll be there but then you already knew that Bowpredator.
-
I registered me and the little one this morning.
-
Trying to register...
Ummm question though? I use a single pin sight, since I have to adjust it at each shot, that will forever deem me in the "open unlimited class" right? What does it mean under Hunter "no lenses, no electronics" but Unlimited "Anything goes, shoot what you bring. All target bows and accessories permitted." Is that saying rangefinders are allowed in unlimited (I don't want to bring one)? What is a "lens", like binocs? So for Hunter you can't even use binocs? ... lol so confused, sorry, novice questions.
Class Descriptions

Short answer is, yes you will have to be in an open type class (open, mbr, mbo etc if they have them).
Range finders are no go.
People who take it seriously, and have money to spend, buy sights that accept lens (magnification) kits...basically turns their sights into magnified scopes.
Edit: I suppose I should say that depending on the club you could agree to shoot your single pin in a hunter class but you would have to set it at a certain yardage and not change it.

Okay thank ya!
Umm no, I'm not really at that level to set it at only one yardage and then try to estimate. That would be a huge disadvantage haha I'll just stick to the class I fall in, just trying to understand the lingo so I know in the future :)

:bash: work :ACRY:

All moveable sights put you in Freestyle class. Because there is no way to police a person that says he won't move it, you're still in Freestyle.
Bowhuner Freestyle is fixed pins and stab under 12" if memory serves.

not sure about the r100 but most shoots volunteer freestyle is 5 or less fixed pins. You 7 pin shooters should be shooting freestyle.
-
Since this is not an WSAA State Shoot or an ASA or IBO sanctioned event they can run their own rules. IBO lifted the 5 pin rule so you can run as many as you want even if it were IBO ruled shoot. Like Sako said, if it moves you are freestyle no matter what else you have on your bow.i have buddies that run a 3 pin mover sight for hunting but when it comes to shooting 3D's they are in with the freestyle group instead of bowhunter freestyle.
-
No. I am going to go play in woods near Burnt Mountain.
-
So what do people bring for potlucks? Lol.. I was told to bring something when I called and reserved camp.
-
Did you ask to camp with me?
-
Did you ask to camp with me?
No, I didn't think to lol.. I wasn't sure how it all worked :dunno: figured it was small like the TSC or something.. PM me your full name and I'll call her back and ask.
-
Usually Capital city Archers supply the main dish like last year they supplied the smoked meats. Then all you need to do is bring a side dish you made or picked up at the store to share with everyone else who brought a side dish, it's ine big potluck that they have in their club house. Of course you do not need to take part and can stay at your camp and have your own dinner.
-
You want my number too?
-
We will finally make it to a shoot this year. We'll be camping with your group Roger. I talked with Kile. Hope u don't mind.
-
Bobbi and i well be there. First shoot of the year.
-
That's awesome you guys can make it out, should be enough
Room. I am taking the trailer down on Wednsday after work and setting it up, then will be going back down on Thursday after work to stay till Sunday. Sherri said we would be up at the flag pole where we were a couple years ago. Are you bringing your trailer down?
-
Yes we are. We got a new trailer! this will be our first trip with it. We will head out Friday morning or so. It should be a good time.
-
How big is the trailer, since I'm headed down on Wednsday to set up I can put mine in a way that you can still get in.
-
Did you call Sherri and get on the camping spot list?
-
Its a 22' and yes we talked with Sheri she said there was enough room....
-
Sounds like a party.
-
Party indeed. Woulda been cool to camp next to all the HW members but no idea really where we are tonna be at.
-
Just got a text "your condo is set up". LOL. I'm excited to go, shoot and spend time with good friends.
-
Today will be a long day at work.

-

Okay what's that?
-
Max score this weekend is 1200 if a shooter shoots 1000 points or better he or she will receive a 1000 point pin

Oooo neat. Yea no way for me but that's fun incentive. Do they all score like Iron Amos where first day is qualifying then 2nd day is the scores that count?
-
No the r100 is a two day total score shoot. You will shoot 50 targets Saturday and 50 targets Sunday.
-
That my goal also , got 1 a couple years ago, shot a 1047. Missed it by 10 last year. Going to put the Specialist to work and kill it this weekend.

My goal will be to at least score a 600 :IBCOOL: Well see you guys out there later tonight. Im thinking 6'sh.
Ill give you a call D when we get out there.
-
Here and accounted for. See everyone tomorrow.
-
I need a 514 today for that 1000 pin didn't shoot great yesterday but having a great time.
-
My bow string snapped clean off the cam and blew up my bow in my face on shot 14. Giant welt across my arm, lots of tears, but I'm determined to finish this out so I am now shooting Smossy's 2 inches too long, 60 lb draw Bear the rest of this course. A nice woman let me borrow her arm guard. I'll let y'all know how I do. My adrenaline is through the roof and I'm shaking like crazy still :/
-
Oh no. :sry: hope you still have fun the rest of the weekend. Please out shoot him.

Lol were neck and neck. Shes shootin my own bow better then me
-
Sounds like my Nephew is gonna get a 1000 pin! My other Nephew won a prize or something yesterday :dunno:. I gotta call them later for more details.
-
Unpacked and resting back at home. Hot, beautiful weather and great people. Hell of a pot luck Sat eve. Bowpredator can really fry some serious fish. Had a ball and can't wait till the Bonanza. Did manage to get a R1000 pin. Never hurts to get lucky. 1035 for a total.
SG, sorry to hear about your bow problem.
-
Not too hot score wise for me, definitely made me miss my single pin site .. and bow, but I was happy to finish the course and stick it out. Super sore muscles now lol. Fun time overall.
Nice shooting Sako :)
-
Wonderful time this weekend.
-
Ouch SG, that looks painful! My Nephews and their families had a blast too!!
-
Sako did you shoot 1035 or was that with the 50 point handicap. Regardless it very good shooting better than me.
-

DRock, That's w/the 50pt handicap. Thanx for that since I dropped the ball pretty good early on Sun morn. Sat I shot a 500 even but the 2 large French press coffees Bowpredator made me Sun morn put the serious shakes to my sight pins, LOL. Ended up with a 485 for Sun for a 985 total. Thanx for a 12 on the apple deer and an arrow in the apple, counting 36 on a single target certainly helps.
I figured I missed the chance but Drenalinjunkie explained the handicap to me.
Drenalinjunkie - feel free to jump in here and explain the handicaps at this shoot. Or anyone else that is knowledgeable about it.
-

:chuckle: you could of walked up there with the crowd and blended in when they said "who didn't get their 1000 pin?" then you'd have one! jk jk jk.
-
Thanks Sako for the props on my fish frying. I might have made that coffee a little strong. Had a GREAT time camping with the TSC crew.Had a good time shooting with everyone. Need to get a camping crew for Bownanza.
-
Not only can Bowpredator fry fish and make great coffee but he can shoot a bow too. He probably won't say anything but he ended up with an R1000 pin also and took top honors for the American course on Sun with a 505.
-
I'm glad to have finished the Sunday round with smossy and SG, although I didn't know either of you guys at the time, I happened to look up this thread and saw some familiar faces. SG was shooting an unfamiliar bow with awesome determination. Smossy, thanks for the arrow building info.

Ahhh, hi! :hello: hahah this is why we should all get Hunt-WA shirts or something for these type events :chuckle: :chuckle: was fun shootin with ya :).
-
Handicap - the way Drenalinjunkie explained it to me:
The R1000 pins go to freestyle shooters that shoot a scratch 1000 for both days. Hunter class gets a 50 pt handicap and trad gets a bigger handicap etc. That way we're all on a level playing field.
I might add that I just met Drenalinjunkie and his family this weekend and they are a nice bunch and I hope to camp with them again. Maybe he'll even let me shoot with him one of these days.
-
Funny guy!! It would be a fun shoot that's for sure. We will definitely have to shoot sometime soon. Maybe we will cross paths with our quality bull tags. It was nice meeting you as well....We will have to do it again it was a good time!
