Title: Any Luck on the North Fork Lewis?
Post by: Pete112288 on July 01, 2014, 03:44:32 PM
Just wondering if anyone has seen much being caught on the North Fork of the Lewis lately. Steelhead is what I am looking for. Its not a 5 minute drive for me anymore so I want to feel it out before I plan which days I can go. Not looking for your spot or your secret gear. Just looking for reports on numbers really and maybe rough area or fishing style, upper river, lower river, drifting, bait, bobber jig... I have one spot that has been hit and miss for bank fishing the last few years that I want to try, still need to get my motor put back together to get the boat out to my better spots.

from what i've heard, it's been slow, really slow.  a damned shame considering what the fishing was like only 7-8 years ago, it's declined even worse than the cowlitz.

Yea, thats roughly what I have heard since May. Even just 3 or 4 years ago wasnt too bad, was able to go down and fish anywhere from late May till mid August and have a good day with the peak being late June. Last couple years has been next to nothing except that week or so that it used to peak and be amazing is now good but not near how it should be.
