Title: Foxpro for bear (elk/cow distress)
Post by: Evoac05 on July 28, 2014, 04:31:54 PM
I plan on using my foxpro to try and call in a bear and noticed people suggesting elk/cow and fawn distress. Any body have luck using the elk/cow distress in an area that doesn't hold elk to bring in a bear? Just curious if I should stick with the fawn distress or try the elk/calf.

Yep.

But I wouldn't rely on the esounds only. Most of them do not have enough emotion or distress for my liking. Use the ecall in conjunction with a hand call.

Thanks BTKR.
I plan to bring a few hand calls along as you suggested, to add emotion to the ecalls.

I will be using my FoxPro's at times. I use the calf and Young deer also snow shoe. I use them were I want to be Quieter down old grades and some timber and huge ridges. I have a Fury and Shock wave. Use a elk call and mainly a Raspy closed reed. Billy has had good luck with elk sounds. Rick
