Just thought I would pass this along. Costco has boxes of Mountain House meals (13 pouches) for $60 ($4.62 each).
Meals are:
3) Breakfast Skillet
3) Beef Stroganoff
3) Rice and Chicken
3) Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
1) Apple Crisp

that is not a bad deal
-
Costco.com I believe has a wider selection. I'll check when I go back in from break.
-
Thanks. Not bad. A box or two of these, some propane, and canned food is good enough for a week or so. Water is a far more critical supply.
-
Costco normally has great deals. Especially on their seasonal items/road show stuff.
-
Yep, best place to get them (that I have discovered).
-
Order direct. Normally every spring they have a large sale at reduced prices.
-
Glad to see Costco has a new variety to choose from. In past years they only had one selection. WinCo foods has a good selection for a decent price - but they are not restocking until next year.
-
Last year at one point, I'm uncertain of the reason or occasion but I found the cases of Mountain House Meals for $40 at Costco. To say the least, I wish I would have bought a few extra cases. Thanks for the ordering direct suggestion Billy. I will try that

They were $40 last couple of years, but the price jumped up quite a bit this year. Still a great buy though.
-
It's too bad they don't sell a low sodium bundle pack
-
How about a freeze dried snickers bar? I bet they try all kinds of things. My kids love the ice cream.
-
I must be slow I can't find it on their website, a direct link would be awesome. Thanks!!

I came across some new meals at Walmart. They are manufactured by Wise Company and National Geographic. The Wise Company are 4 servings. The National Geographic are 2 servings and packaged just line the Mountain House meals. But both are cheaper than Mountain House.
-
Search for Oregon Freeze Dried.
-
The wise company ones are gross. You can go on there site to get a free one. But it's nothing like mountain house.

The Tumwater Costco has the Mountain House meals in stock. I just picked one up there last weekend.
-
Yep. My brother picked up one this week at Tumwater.
-
Tukwila has them in stock too. Grabbed a box over the weekend.

They've added the 3 breakfasts and the dessert this year and charge a higher price. I wasn't too happy about it as I don't do a cooked anything at breakfast when backpacking and I never do dessert, however the breakfast skillet is delicious...had it while car camping before packing in to the Rubies. Had the Apple Crisp dessert during the trip home and it was good too.
The MH meals are salty but no other brand that I've tried is a delicious.
-
Packit gourmet. Well worth the cost. Way less salty, and better nutrition for the weight. To each their own. :)

So does the one in Lacey.
