Well, I scouted all season long and killed a spike. My little punk kid bro went out this morning and wacked this stud with his smoke poll. Not much of a story to tell. He's just a freakin' lucky guy. We put the tape on him...he grossed 378 and 5/8 and netted 363 and some change. He did have a 100 grain thunderhead stuck just above his lungs. If you are that guy, sorry...

-
Bullchaser, awesome bull, congrats to your brother!! That's a bull I only dream of taking!! (grin)
Could you please be more specific in the thunderheads exact location where it was above the lungs & possibly the angle it entered in? In other words do you mean above the scapula plate towards neck are or more between liver & lungs yet a high shot? I'd really appreciate it!!
Thanks/ElkNut

-

Are you sure you scored it right? ;)

INCREDIBLE BULL. Thanks for sharing with us.
-
What a beautiful bull. He probably spent most of his life in the watershed and decided to come out on the wrong day. Congrats on a great bull!
-
What a dandy bull!! Congrats to him!
-
Damn, that boy is niiiice!
378 on a Rosey? wouldnt that be a like top 10 rosey in wa of all time? :dunno:
-
It only count as a Roosy if it is harvested west of I-5, What unit was it harvested from? (unit only to keep spot secret )
-
Congrats to your bro, and thanks for the pics. WOW!!!!
-
what a toad, congrats to your bro
-
Outstanding bull, truely a beast. I am so glad to see a pic of some of this dandy one, it has given me motivation for this last week push.... Again great Bull... Wow...
-
Paul the arrow entered about 5 inches below the withers angled down toward the right lung (high) a little far forward (treestand maybe).
It was killed in 454 on private land. The score is obviosly not official but its probably within 6 or 7 inches
-
If he does net 363 he would probably tie for 2nd place in the Cascade Roosevelt Elk. Nice elk. hopefully it scores as high as you guys scored it at.
-
He just doesnt look like all his tines are long enough to make 378. My bull has long tines all the way around with 52 inch mains and doesnt quite make 370. Pics can be deceiving. You didnt add the end of the main beams as g-6s also did you? Or use the outside spread instead of the inside for the score. Man thats a dandy bull! Love to see all these big animals hittong the ground this year!
-
Hey high country--- Thats my broadhead :chuckle: :chuckle:
Great bull congrats
-
bucklucky I will get the score sheet back from him and post it. but i do remember main beams were both right around 55" and the 3s and 4s around 20" on the strong side. The narrow inside spread is deceiving.
-
I figured the pics are deceiving. I dint think the third was even close to 20 , maybee 16, but thats photos for ya! Looks like some great mass on him too!
-
WOW! Great heavy horned bull! Congratulations!
-
that is a great bull no matter what it scores. well done. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.
-
Dam nice bull! Congrats to your brother!
-
What a great bull!! Congrats to your brother...
-
Well done on that HOG!!!
-
Bullchaser, thanks! That is about where a shot could be above the lungs & off to one side favoring the neck. I was just curious!!
ElkNut/Paul

Wow! You know what they say, "I'd rather be lucky than good anyday". :IBCOOL: Tell you're bro he might as well hang the gun up on the wall, He's reached the mountaintop, nowhere to go from there. That way we get one more lucky hunter out of the woods and leave more animals for us "good" hunters. ;) #*&!^ Lucky ($@# Hunters. :dunno: Congats Man, one beautiful animal. I wouldn't care what it scored, as they say "any elk is a trophy" and that my friend is a TROPHY!
