That time of year has come.
Packed and ready to roll.
It's game week.
-
Did that last week. Felt good to get out.
-
Prepping all my stuff this week. Pulling cams out of the backcountry on Saturday. One final scouting trip

Wish I had time this year for scouting. having to go in cold this year. Too much to do this summer getting firewood for the winter ect. Not holding my breath for a successful trip this year but going in cold is better than not going at all.
-
all packed here as well.
final draft for anyone interesested

Silk and FTF
What are you guys hunting? Bear? Aren't you guys leaving for Co elk hunt soon?
-
What brand of boots you rolling with?
-
Hey fillthefreezer...I don't see any side arm on your list. Do you not carry in the back country. I get saving the weight thing. It's a few extra pounds with ammo. I wonder how many of you do or don't carry and why?

I don't carry one, too heavy. If I was hunting in Grizzly country, I would, but here in Washington, there's nothing in the backcountry that scares me.
-
I mostly don't carry. I have a rifle with me and usually have enough other stuff to drag around. If I'm not carrying a rifle(hiking only) then I do carry.
-
I carry a rifle, would think that's enough. If I was somewhere with grizzlys I'd carry for sure
-
Dink: ya we were hunting bear. Berries STILL weren't really popping. Had a shot opportunity this morning. Bear winded us at 190 as we were getting setup to take the shot.
We leave for Colorado Thursday.
Grizzly: no we don't carry side arms. Not worth the weight penalty, and I've got some type of weapon with me when I'm hunting.
And for scouting I find in leaving it at home more and more...just really not that nervous about needing it. At least in this state.

grizzly: ill usually take one weapon. hunting or scouting. rifle pistol bow accordingly. i dont take duplicate anything else in my kit, i figure the thing most likely to not get used is the worst place to duplicate. this trip was a first, splitting a weapon. will likely continue.
HH: im rolling hanwag alaskans and trav is running lowa cevedales

Ya taking one gun between the two of us was legit...cut almost 7 lbs off our combined list.

He's had it for a few years, but it's a very good spotter!
Gun went unfired, but had a hell of a weekend!
I'm tired and sore. 17 miles round trip plus daily hiking=sore dogs.

Pretty Damn close!
I was out in the ALW, and came across three guys coming back from a bear hunt. I was 10 miles in, saw some great country, but no bear...forgot to ask those guys if they frequent this site.
