Son was out hunting bear and saw a guy packing out a 6 point bull. Said he was indian.
It was near Snoqualmie pass
-
Not uncommon up around Stampede Pass.
:dunno:
:peep:

I do not know jackelope or KFhunter, and can not speak for them, but KFhunter was funny, and jackelope as a mod was issuing a "gentle reminder" ?
-
Did he call it in? Just in case....
-
Pretty lame but what can ya do
-
I know KFhunter. He's a danger to himself..................

I deleted the unrelated post. Pretty sure someone just wanted to try and start trouble.
Thanks.

Rode my motorcycle across the pass last week, saw 2 HUGE bulls on the ranch just West of Indian John Hill. Huge ones, thought they were sculptures!
-
:yeah: I saw those Thursday! They were sure dark colored, AND HUGE! Wonder how many bullet holes are in them?
-
I hope it taste good :dunno: :chuckle:
-
I'll Bite..... If It's True It's *censored*!
-
So it was being packed out and not near a road? Was it a rifle or bow kill? If he was packing it out then I'd say he at least worked for it rather than waited til it was on its winter range and easy to load. Additional info would be nice.
-
I'D LIKE TO KNOW IF HE PACKED ALL OF IT OUT. THE MUCKS LIKE IT IN THERE.
-
:yeah: I agree, hopefully the meat came out 1st.
-
Actually it's berry gathering time the other foods have past and last I checked elk was apart of the food group.
Who doesn't want to reduce the horse herds, I know I'd like to thin them out by a lot......
-

No... I was born in the dark, but... Not the steel ones way up the meadow on the East side of Indian John, the ranch on the West side. There were horses in the valley pasture to the North of 90 and these two bulls were walking towards the Fwy on the S side looking across at the horses and looking at each other. In the second clearing, closest to the timber. Huge. Never seen that big in WA. Honestly thought they couldn't be real 'til I saw them walking.
-
Hope they were on a horse and using a handmade longbow if not its b.s.

Muckleshoot doesn't open until the 15th of September. Yakama is open year round for bulls. Also Muckleshoot has mandatory reporting.
-
If i was indian I would engrave "longbow" on my rifle barrel so nobody could complain I didn't use a longbow to kill my huge bulls.
I'd even go a step further and paint my truck to look like like a horse.
-
Was it this bull?
-
Kind of makes me sick to my stomach.....I have a hard time believing in this day, when everyone wanting equality, that this stuff still happens. :puke:
-
My kid said the guy was a Yakima indian. This was on the east side of pass.
-
That's an awesome bull regardless of who killed it.

seems earlier than years past that someone throws out some of these posts
-
If that was the bull it sure is a nice one.
-
The picture says Monday. Kid says they shot it Friday, hauling out Saturday.
-
:bash:
-
I just hope they're gonna eat it.
-
If they have to report it then I have no problem with it .. He is entitled to one just like we are :dunno: :chuckle: Dandy bull :yike: Its just the ones that continue to harvest with no care what so ever that peeeeses me off ...
-
If they cant shoot their horses for food, they have to look elsewhere. Damn humane society and horse lovers had dang near all the horses adopted that the yakamad caught this spring :bash:.
14500 horses is a lot of food for the tribe :twocents:
You know, i actually agree with you on that.
Eating a horse is nothing different than eating a cow. its a livestock animal too
I don't understand why i'm not seeing the humane society bashing cattle ranchers.

Last year, in the 560, I saw a white guy packing out a deer. It really torqued me off to see. I said, "Hey, white guy in camouflage: what gives you the right to pack out that deer?". And he said, "Yo dude, my tag. See?". He showed me his deer tag. I've never seen anything so infuriating before. I cried for three days and then, still didn't get my own deer. I was even madder then. I can't imagine how mad I'd be if he were an Indian. :bash: :bash: The world sure is unfair.

Lol!

Packing out I take it meant driving their truck up to where it was shot and loading it in the back. :chuckle:

There's so much missing here. Did he talk to the guy? Is it possible the guy had a tag? When he says he was an Indian, could he have been a poaching Mexican or maybe even a Guatemalan (they poach all the time, I hear)? Inuit and he thought it was a musk ox? There's almost not a single redeeming quality about a thread like this that is so full of innuendo and no concrete substance. It creates bad feelings and for all we know, for nothing.
There was a thread last year that focused on a single Yakima who was killing quite a few elk bull, apparently. I didn't have a problem with that thread except for the posts of people who drew gross generalizations from it, like every Indian in WA is taking home 14 elk bulls/year. There are some real jerks out in the woods and not all of them are native. There are a lot of natives out in the woods and not all of them are jerks. Words mean something.

At least they waited for the bull to grow, this Yakima trophy was killed on June 9th... Makes me have great respect for the mighty hunter.
-
Why do we even care anymore guys? they do what they want and nothing can or will ever be done about it. :bash:

Are there any organized protests against Indians being able to harvest whenever they want? Is there a chance of making it fair for everyone?
-
There have been discussions about such protests. As far as making it fair for everyone, their treaties are passed by Congress and signed by the President. They can only be changed by Congress and if our country is to have any credibility, with the agreement of the Indians involved. Another route would be to appeal to the tribal councils to pass laws restricting harvest on their reservations and/or ceded lands. Good luck with that. If you had increased harvest quotas, would you be giving them up?

I saw something yesterday while me and the wife was waiting to get tires on her truck . We were sitting outside when I noticed a truck coming around the round about :chuckle: In the back the elk racks were sticking up a plenty ..I mean stacked high ..Looked like a tribal member but not 100% positive but I would have liked to have been quick enough to get a picture ..It was impressive ..I have no idea if they were just killed or someone was just transporting some bone ...
-
I thought you meant you saw him packing out 6 elk at one time. That would have been impressive.

Nice to see these Indian wars threads are still happening whats it 6yrs now. I do miss one of the more educated and passionate debaters.... the good ol days when Plat and Colockum went head to head in epic battles :chuckle: :chuckle:

so if you see me coming out of somewhere with a 6x anything I better have a horse and long bow? while you can use a ATV and compound? total B.S. :chuckle:
some of us skinjuns have no rights off of our tiny reservations and I hunt with state tags and adhere to same rules as any of you. so back to my original point, are you gonna call me in or post it on here how full of crap I am for being successful on a hunt?

I can't speak for him but I would just shake your hand and congratulate you. State tags and same rules are all most ppl want. Heck not even state tags just more coordination between sides to establish rules and seasons that benefit all parties equally and are best for overall herd health
