I have an animal that needs to be relocated and could use help of someone who knows what to do . I don't know if its woodchuck or muskrat or what ,but it had dug a hole under clients patio and we need to get rid of it . The house is in Bellevue , the hole is about 6"-8" in diameter and pretty big mound of dirt in front of it . There is pond with standing water and some aquatic vegetation 30' away .
Can anyone help ? Please PM me , let me know what would you charge .

Maybe try a Hav-a-hart live trap. I think you can pick up at local feed store/co-op

Animal is a mountain beaver,,,,,very easy to catch
-
Did it drag that leafy stuff over to it's burrow? If so, I say definitely mountain beaver. Bait a have-a-hart trap with that stuff. Close one side and stuff all the bait to the closed side. They are easy to catch and almost always die in the trap this time of year.

NRA4LIFE -yes ,it drag the leaves to the entrance . I do have a trap ,however what do I bait it with and where to place the trap ? By the burrow ? and if it is alive - what do I do with it ? I don't want to kill it . Thank you
-
Bait it with those leaves, all of them. Put the entrance of the trap right near the burrow. They'll go in the trap late in the evening or early morning. I have trapped several dozen this way and during the summer they are always dead in the trap from lack of water.

What the heck is a mountain beaver? Former flatlander here so this is a new one to me lol
Sent from my space modulator.

They are a burrowing menace here in Western WA. They generally burrow into wooded hillsides somewhere near a water source. They look like about a 3 lb gray hamster.

Thank you ,we'll give it a shot ....

To see what they look like take a look at the link I've added below. I did battle with this guy in my garage one day. Ornery little fella...

You'll be breaking the law if you relocate it. Two legal options for handling the animal, Euthanize or release on the spot ( not much point in that

UPDATE ::::::
Thanks guys , she was captured . The very few first days she kept stealing the bait from the trap because the pressure plate was set for heavier animal and then there was too much action around the house with yard work,movers,repairs and such .....for her to handle ,so she kept inside I think . Anyhow by moving the trap closer to another hole and setting the plate lighter - she was in . The owner had in the meantime arranged some pro to come in and try to capture the creature ,that was actually the same day when she got in .So the guy took her and I didn't get to see her at all .
So thanks guys ,the house is going on the market today and is beaver free . :tup: :tup: :tup:
