Post by: Buck Fever on August 29, 2014, 01:00:35 AM: Can anyone tell me when they usually lift the fire danger closer in the public timber area? I wanted to scout this area this weekend but its closed. Is there other access points or do I just have to wait it out?

Post by: aer212 on August 29, 2014, 06:15:07 AM: Typically it gets enough rain to open back up around modern deer season or a week before the opener. There are a bunch of access areas but it doesn't matter, the timber land is all closed.

Post by: elkoholic on August 29, 2014, 08:05:34 AM: The best time to scout the 388 is durring and after the modern season, you will see some deer but most show up later in Oct/November. Migration in the northern part of the unit (WTP lands) .:twocents:
