Post by: X-Force on August 31, 2014, 07:56:42 AM
Does anyone know who sells Slik Compact ii tripods in whatcom, Skagit or northern Snohomish county? thinking of picking up one for the backcountry.
Thanks

I am hoping to get it from a local store instead of online.

after looking over a couple tripods at the local camera store I went with a promaster xc522. not what I was looking for but it should be a nice upgrade.

How do you like your Vortex spotting scope?

How do you like your Vortex spotting scope?

This was a slow hunting season for me, I got shipped out of state during most of muzzleloader and rifle deer season and had a cow permit for early elk so I didn't get to use the spotter that much until I helped out my brother in law on a late quality hunt.

I have been fortunate enough to use a Swarovski non-hd 80 the past 7 or so years and I had the Swarovski non hd 80 against the Razor 65 in brightness and clarity favored the Vortex IMO. Of course the Swarovski was brighter at the same power but if you compared the top, bottom and middle powers of the scopes the Vortex won... again IMO.
I took some video (with my phone and Razor) of a buck at 500 yards full zoom and it is as clear of an image as you can ask for.  :twocents:
