Title: Big buck dead by ft Lewis
Post by: elkaddict652 on September 03, 2014, 04:53:38 PM
Anybody else see the big 5x4 just north of the east gate? Went home to grab my truck to pick it up and by the time I got back someone had beat me to it. BIG bodied deer.

Be careful with that:

4. Wildlife Found Dead:
You may remove and dispose of wildlife found dead
on your property or an adjoining public roadway,
but you must first notify WDFW. Dead wildlife can
only be removed for disposal, not for personal use or
consumption. (WAC 232-12-287)
5. Possession of Antlers:
It is legal to possess naturally shed antlers of deer,
elk and moose.

For 5. it does not talk about antlers off of road kill.  Would hate to see someone get pinged for an honest mistake.

There was a big buck on the side of the road up here a few weeks ago that like magic became a doe over night. That buck should have been named hudini!

It does when it says it is legal to possess naturally shed antlers. Road kill antlers are not naturally shed.

That is how I meant for it to come across after reading it again I could see some confusion.  Thanks jackelope for clarifying.
