After shooting the animal I always look for the arrow to see what kind of blood in on it. That is if it hasn't dropped in you view. Arrows are darn expensive too.your right there. But if there is none missing then how are you looking ?

Ok maybe it is the drugs I am taking for my knee but you said you seeing pictures of people with the animals with their quivers not missing any arrows. What I have done is make the shot. Deer slumps of and moves off into the thick stuff. I waited 15-30 minutes go out of my stand/blind. Looked for my arrow, if it was a pass through shot, to see if I have good blood. Put it back in my quiver and go looking for the animal. If I then took a picture I would have a full quiver of arrows. Think some are missing my point .. I am saying when your taking pictures in the field with your trophy why is there no arrows missing ..not when you get home and reload it .

I don't think anyone is talking about when they're at home. I would assume it's exactly as Russ is saying - before looking for the animal they go and collect their arrow, put it back in quiver, start the blood trail to trophy, take a pic with trophy and full quiver (assuming they only took the one shot). Bam, full quiver. :dunno:

I would think being a bowhunter you would like to keep the arrow you killed something with and would love to show off a bloody arrow in your quiver if you could find it ..if you can not find it then the quiver should not be full .. I guess I just got bored this afternoon ... :chuckle: :chuckle:The last 2 year I haven't wiped mine off for a week or so. I guess some hunters I guess have the Monk syndrome. If it wasn't a complete pass through or you didn't find the arrow you 100% correct how do the have a full quiver :dunno:. Maybe the carry 2 quivers full of arrows. One for a spare.

It's "Monk Syndrome" in my case. Once I look over the blood on the arrow to add to my information about the hit I clean that baby off as well as I can and then clean it ever better when I get home. It seems like it is the thing to do nowadays with the advent of all the southern tree stand hunters who hunt private property. There is even a story on here where a guy left one out with the hot weather that we have been having. It just isn't deer anymore either, Elk, Bear. Shoot it, leave it out, replace your arrow, bam!
I know what you are insinuating though......

I shot that deer sorry i was confused. Dink couldn't hit a barn at 63 yards. He has yet to draw blood.
Poor Dinker. I figured the way you were holding it you shot it but wasn't sure. Has he had any other shots yet or just the one wiff?
