last night we rolled into a campground around 11pm. took off at 5am, started looking for these so called "tons of logging roads and great glassing places all over". I guess its a "you either know or you wont find them" kinda place because we drove from Arlington to Diablo and found only a few and every one we ran from end to end were just paths thru the trees, tall and thick didnt even find any decent areas to glass :bash: seeing Oso in person was pretty grounding though. I guess I can cross that off my bucket list and keep moving down :chuckle:

We use to go up Green Mtn years ago, is that all over grown now ?

Maybe, might wanna look at that area. The road is near the lumber mill area off to the left. Don't remember how far away.
-
Campmeat is right there is a road to the left as you go by the lumber mill outside of darrington. Go up there it is all DNR land and they have been doing a lot of logging up there. Also just outside darrington going towards Arlington there is a road swede something just opposite the shell station. You take that it will you to the FS 17 road. The first part of it is DNR land then FS land.

Did you look at any maps? Do any homework before you left?
-
Yea, the slide is crazy. Sorry, no help here with the hunting. Do they have 530 opened up through the slide? I havent seen any news or anything on it since I left at the end of April.

There are some nice bucks in the darrington area but it can be hard to find them .

:yeah:
Lots of areas to hunt there, if you were looking for a road hunt only a couple options. Try hiking some of those dead end brushy roads. Darrington not a bust seen a lot of animals in the general area

Look at the harvest stats for the GMU pretty dismal, but there are some nice ones taken once in a while. Back in the 60's and 70's when there was a late season and lots of logging was the best. Unless there is a main trail head roads are just let go until they are no longer passable for vehicles. Used to be lots of fun even into the 80's, but then logging stopped, garbage dumpers, wood thieves, and such caused the roads to gated and now there is not as much area to drive into.
