Title: Well I did it!
Post by: TeacherMan on September 18, 2014, 11:18:08 PM
I've been wanting a full frame for a long time and I finally got one. Picked up a new Canon 6d with 24-105 IS lens, a
70-200 2.8 IS II lens and a 2x teleconverter. Excited to take it out this weekend and see what we can come up with. Headed caribou and moose hunting do should be fun!

Fantastic.   Make sure you get a summit to sea bag (waterproof sack) for those moose conditions out there.

Absolutely plan on it. This weekend she may not see much action if the weather we have persists.

Have any of you ever used a neoprene covers over your lens? I was looking at some camo kits online for the 70-200. Thoughts in that's?

Neoprene covers make me nervous because of how they can hold water.

I often use the 70-200 on my 6d and I've actually found it to be a great "walk around lens" believe it or not. Great when you don't want to get into people's faces and keep your distance. On a crop sensor its a bit too telephoto-ey to serve in this roll.

If you from time to time have spastic fingers like me, you might consider a GGS screen protector. It fits my 6d like a glove and you can't even tell its there. Previous generations of screen protectors were far more conspicuous and obnoxious.

I got a set for my 70-200.   I used them only once  for the exact reason Bean mentioned, I never put them on again.  They hold moisture/condensation and I didn't like that.   For me, the only ones I worry about camo with my lens are ducks.  I made my own out of facemask material.
