I know some of you guys don't like em. But if you have one or are planning on buying one please vote.
Right now I've got an 05' Honda Rancher 350 4x4. Still haven't taken it up to the hills. Maybe next year. Have taken it muddin though on my property with snipekillr :chuckle:
-
I have a 2007 Honda rancher 420 4x4. My wife rides a Honda recon 250. We have alot of fun! Honda ATV's have treated all my family well!
-
Yeah they are nice just got my grandpa a 2007 recon. Because his old one was stolen :bash: :bash: :bash:. What year is the recon? I ask this because on the newer ones it is almost impossilbe to change the spark plug. :dunno:
-
honda ALLL THE WAY
-
I have two Yamahas. The one I rode the most is a 2005 Grizzly 660 4x4, and the other one is a 2005 Kodiak 450 4x4, my wife usually rides that one and I use it for plowing snow as well. When used legally and safely, 4 wheelers can be an incredible amount of fun and an invaluable hunting tool.
-
I used to ride a Suzuki Vinson 500 that I liked a lot. Looking hard at the new Yamaha Grizzly 550 with EPS.
-
I have a killer quad 700 polaris 4x4 gonna get the 500 for my wife, I dont use it for hunting off of.we go to jeep trails.when I retire in Idaho we will really enjoy it.
-
Polaris Sportsmen 500. :IBCOOL:

I've got a 1995 Honda fourtrax 300 4x4 that is indestructible (it has treated me so well I am afraid to get a new one)and a Polaris Ranger XP, here's the Ranger at work and play. I agree used correctly they are an awesome tool, we pulled out 6 elk with my XP opening weekend this year still took us all day, can't imagine how long it would have taken on our backs.
-
Changed it for ya Huntnphool :P.
And Added polaris and Artic Cat. Somehow I forgot those to.
-
Thanks 270.
-
My wife's Recon is a 2005. We bought it new as the price was right! When we had more $$, she took it over and We got me the 07 rancher. Never tryed to change the plug on the recon.

Ya the plug is so far under the plastic its almost impossilble to get at. You have to like take off the plastic to get to it. We couldn't even find it at first, but then i looked way up in there an there it was.
-
Wife rides a 1985 honda 250 fourtrax, mine's a 1996 300 fourtrax.
they get us where we want to go, and back.
Slenk
-
Got two Can-Am's (formerly known as bombardier) Love 'em, ride 'em a lot, about 2500 mi. a year.
-
2005 Suzuki Vinson 500 and a 2006 Polaris Sportsman 400 almost every weekend in the hills.
-
Here is one with the mighty hunter aboard!
-
The wife & I both have 2005 Yamaha kodiak 450's. Love the IRS, put lots of miles on them on the trails around town.
-
Yamaha Rhino 660.
-
Wow! :yike: That elk is bigger than the UTV!
-
I just have a little Honda Recon for the kids to ride and to haul hay out to the cows, not for "hunting". This next year I am getting either a Rancher or Foreman.
-
Need to change my vote from "other" to Polaris. :chuckle:
-
My ATV is my All Terrain insulated boots!! I guess if I really wanted a 4 wheeler, I could go get one, but I like hiking, both going in and coming out. Now that may change as I get older and the arthritis keeps kicking in during cold weather, but have had to many bad experiences with guys riding right in on closed roads, behind closed gates, etc....... Just not for me for hunting.
-
10YOA Quarter Horse!
-
08 suzuki kingquad 750 camo. hopeing to get tracks for it very soon
-
2001 Suzuki King Quad (300)
-
Dual-Sports are the way to go 8)
-
got a 2006 yamaha YZ250 does that count? it will take any of your quads any day

That's the reason I got mine. I have had 3 knee surgery's on my right knee and a few back injury's. I love hiking, but its getting so bad I really need something to help cut the distances down that I travel. Not to mention the thought of packing out an animal. Horses are cool, as long as they are someone elses. :chuckle:
-
None :'(
-
I've got a Yamaha Grizzly 450
Dads got a Yamaha Big Bear 400
Buddy has a Suzuki King Quad 450
Buddy has a Arctic Cat 500
Sister has a Yamaha Wolverine 450
Sisters Fiance' has a couple quads in pieces. Dude is ROUGH on *censored*. :violent1:
-
Well had recently a Polaris 325 (kids), a Polaris 400 (wife's), a Polaris 500 (mine, but kids drove it, the work horse) and still have a Polaris 700 (06) that is spending time in Idaho with a friend... and might be sold too, he wants it. Riding isn't the same here as I expected, different choices here for me now... J E E P!, But oh the good old days of free air time... and lastly my buds 600 Griz he killed....
-
Must be a good story about how the Grizzly got all busted up! Broke gun on the front too!
-
I'd love to see a couple more look like that Grizzly does.
-
nice attitude someone could have been injured on that bike
-
Looks like a broken tie down on it. Wounder if it came off a trailer or pickup bed going down the road?
-
There was a story on here about it. Went over a cliff. :yike:
-
Story is we went for a Grizzly hunt in Sept/Oct. We headed out to the Glacier 30 miles then head to another remote trail an additional 20 miles, fifty miles before we were in good areas. Anyhow I was leading up this nasty hill and going to try and summit the smaller mountain that we needed to get over and be able to glass a huge valley. Well about 3/4 up there was a platform plateau of sorts, I stopped and was waiting for him to come on up. I pulled out my camera took a couple pictures and have some water. Four or five minutes I started wondering where the heck was he, so back down the last slope to the edge of the bigger hill I just went up. There he was laying on the hill, I yelled to him and he sat up. What the heck happened and where is your machine, he just pointed over the hill. Oh crap! He wasn't injured at all, alittle shaken and nothing but pride and wallet injured. So, over I go in low range down the steep hill, wow didn't realize how steep it was till pucker factor hit on the way back down. He stated the machine hit a large rock I must have tore up and did a straight back flip, machine right over him. Nothing he could do. (He is an extremely advanced riders for those questioning or about to question his abilities...) The machine went 10-15 flips and stopped just short of a serious cliff, one more flip, it would have required a team to get that machine out. Broke his 10-22 Grouse getter, no damage to his bear gun in the Koplin Scabboard (recommend one for everyone), crushed GPS, survival gear beat up, bino's destroyed... All plastic trashed, both axles bent bad, all metal cages destroyed, handle bars crushed. No tire damage. We hooked the winch up and pulled the handle bars back straight, bent some of the racks out of the way, cut some plastic and tried starting it. It fired right up.The brakes on it is in the middle back pumpkin, it was glowing red till he hit the cold glacier water, then no more brakes the rest of the way out. He would get right up on me and low range through the rest of smaller down hills... He actually drove it out to the glacier flats then it died. I had to tow it 25 miles back to our trailer.. So that day started with a overnight Grizzly bear hunting trip in the wee hours of the morning and ended killing a 660lb Grizzly the first afternoon..... :chuckle: Good thing full insurance replacement... He doesn't like large hill climbs anymore... Funny- now but man I thought he was through when I first saw him...
-
So, the next time we hear about a hunter with an arrow stuck through his leg, or shot with a rifle, we should comment "I would like to see more like that" if you do not like rifles or bow?
I think not.
Your comment was out of line.
-
Hey bone head how do you like the king quad? I have been thinking about getting a King Quad 450.
-
If you hate quads why the hell are you on this thread just to start sh&t
I don't know if you were following this topic - http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,16507.0.html but this is the same guy. I gave him a chance to redeem himself but all that he wants to do is incite people into arguments.
http://www.monstermuleys.info/dcforum/DCForumID38/119.html
We had to let him go.
-
Too bad it had to come to that. Can't say I'm gonna miss him though. :ban:
-

-
I'm buying a Suzuki King quad 450 this spring. If anyone has thoughts good or bad I'd like to hear them.
-
Cohoho, Glad your buddy was OK! That was a good story! My respect for Yamaha went up a little. Unreal that atv made it most of the way back! I may need to invest in a wench. They can do more than get you un stuck!
-
Don't own one, never used one for hunting except an Argo up in northern Alberta bear hunting (working for an outfitter).
-
Love my "BigBear 400", had 2 untill one was stolen from my home.
-
I was pulling out of the Tumwater Costco yesterday when someone on a blaster went by. I followed him down Littlerock road until he turned and went towards Tumwater H.S. I haven't seen that since I came back from Idaho.
-
The wife and I both had Hondas! Loved them! She had a '05 Rancher 400 2x4/4x4 and I have a '05 Rubicon 500 2x4/4x4 Awesome machines! I sold her's last year and bought her a Honda crf230f dirt bike, she really likes the bike so I bought myself a 2008 Yamaha WR250R dual sport. I have had my ATV 3 1/2 years and have only used it once while hunting, I am thinking about selling it if someone is interested.
-
i currently have a honda 200x 3 wheeler im restoring kinda , i am planning on getting me a 4x4 quad im thinking a polaris or have any of you seen e japanese mini trucks you can get them in 4x4 built with a dump bed from what i read they come locked in the axles and all , my little brother has 2 trucks and one little japanes mini van , but they arent 4x4 they are 2wd , they are gonna be for sale soon ill post them on here for you all ... but this is what the 4x4s look like and what you can do to them
-
yeah I know a guy who has one with a 3inch lift and some atv tires on it......its his farm truck....Its pretty fun to cruise around in really
-

what exactly are these things called, so i can do me some e-net research? sizuki... ?
-
if you type in japanese mini truck in googe or something , you will get lots of websites that show you about them
-
I saw one yesterday going down the freeway on a trailer that was a crew cab it looked pretty cool
-
Rokon - Old school 2WD bikes. I've had several, attached pic is one I refurbished, a 1970 model. Also ride a Honda CR500.

Yamaha rules as fare as bikes go, but quads... i would have to vote for Honda's reliability
-
Pics!! as far as strokes 2 strokes all the way!! and Im gna have to agree I have seen alot more reliable honda fourwheelers than yamahas
-
well.... you got the yamaha thing right, but definately not the 2-stoke thing... :chuckle: my first bike was a 89 cr250 that had a 93 engine put into it... i thought it was the most baddest bike ever, until my freind bought his o6 yz450(thats the one in the background...) and i bought mine the next year. everyone that has had 2-strokes and jumps on a thumper loves them. ill let you ride mine if you ever want to meet up at moses or something after i put my paddle on :4w:
-
might have to do that some time.....Ive never ridden in the dunes before....mainly woods...and then a local guy has a pretty good sized track and I have rode at the track in airway heights a few times....the local guy has a pretty technical track really....he has a bbq every year and some pros turn out and ride it...I enjoy watching them
-
that sounds like a blast. ive had alot of fun with my bike, ive been up ahtanum in the mountains, dunes, and the most fun was when i raced supermoto at the monroe speedway, goin around pavment corners 60+ mph with your peg scraping the ground is, ummm fun, lol

Sisu, my cousin uses nothing but Argo's when Moose hunting and I have a blast when we go out in them. Also have a buddy in Petersville who has a Nodwell with the motorized trailer and that thing is nothing short of awesome, you can get quite a camp set up when you use one of those. Unforutnately some of the regs in area's up there have changed and you can't have anything over 1500lbs off the road in places.
