New bows for 2015 are starting to show up. Elite released its 2015 line up on line today. What will I shoot this year.
-
SWEET! I'm looking for a left handed elite answer, used in good condition
-
The new rubber is nice! All the paint matches...that's nice too!
-
They are so slow.
-
And the same as last years slow bows. OK one is in-between the 32 and 35 like a new slower Answer but with an additional 3/8 +/- .125" in brace height. Yeah...I think
In target bows the Levi fans should be excited about the Victory. And now Bowtech fans can have a Specialist that pays contingency money! That's a pretty good deal  Not sure why they abandon the almost 8" brace height of the Tour. But definitely a better handle and grip on the new bow. Not sure the additional 1" in length makes up for the loss in brace, but I'm sure if Levi wins a few no one will care!
-
Best part of this release? There will be plenty of cheap energys up for sale from people that think a bow is better because it's the new model. :chuckle:
And the used bows come with the warranty.
Looks like my answer ain't going anywhere. :)

I was really hoping elite would muster up a speed bow or something a little lighter. All the elite fans say "they're the smoothest bow on the market", well maybe. But they're slow and heavy.

They are smooth, slow, heavy and pretty! Mathews already had smooth, slow and heavy locked up. :chuckle:
Honestly, I am glad Elite keeps that limb design around 325/330. Seems every single manufacture that has tried to take that type of limb past 340 has had nothing but issues. If they are going to stay married to that limb the speed is right where it should be IMO.
I wish other bow companies would take note of Elite's fit and finish. They are proof that you can pay attention to detail and still make money. It is always the first thing I notice when I see a new Elite bow. Again and again I catch myself saying, "Now that is the way a bow should look!" Sure wish Bear, PSE, Hoyt and Bowtech would catch on and try to follow Elite's "Fit and Finish" lead.

I saw a new sneak peak at the new target bow by prime looks like they made a shoot through riser model of the one. Heard another rumour that hoyts bringing its fastest bow ever to the market. What to shoot what to shoot? So much shooting staff paperwork on my desk i dont know where to start.

My 85 lb energy 35 limbs are shooting a 530 grain arrow at 308 fps. :dunno: They have held up fine. I think the Gordon Glass limbs are a little better than everyone else's glass (barnsdale excluded).
I'm hoping to shoot the synergy soon but I have a feeling I will be sticking with the E35.
-
Well I shoot every bow that comes out and have for the better part of the last 20 years and unless there is some new revolutionary changes in bow design in 2015 from any of the manufacturers my 13 Answer is staying in the stable. Speed is not everything. :twocents:

Barnsdale uses Gordon Glass! He just laminates it. ;)
Bear's Max Preload = Gordon Glass
PSE X-Tech = Gordon Glass
...
Dang near all USA made limbs are Gordon Glass.
You can keep with Gordon glass and still produce a limb more suited to high speed than paddle/hinge limbs. I expect if Elite wants to enter into the speed bow market in the future they will use the Max Load Gordon type design. At least I hope so for their sake.

You obviously know more on this subject than me.
Does Elite laminate their own limbs or are they "turn key" from Gordon? Just curious.
My original post was in regards to a company that stuck with solid limbs through 2013 and had a ton of problems. ;)

Those were Gordon glass too ;)
Biggest difference between that company and Elite is the attention to detail. I see no one who is giving as much detailed attention to their product than Elite. Night and day difference between them and that old company I think you are referring to.
I'm not sure who is doing the final work on the Elite limb. I'll make a phone call or two and see if I can find out. My most knowledgeable Elite guy is in meetings all week. Might take me a little while to get that answer absolutely correct.

If any of you guys are looking to unload an e35 to buy a brand spankin new 2015 model pm me

I don't know about slow. My E35 flings a 532gr arrow @ 293fps. That's a fair amount of energy down range. I'll have to check out the new line up

Got my questions answered from my Elite contact. Guess he is no longer with the company so if things changed in the past year this may not be accurate.
Barnsdale is (or at least was) doing the laminating for Elite! That would explain the high quality of the fit and finish ;)
-
Over on the elite forum Pete said that they now make their limbs themselves in house. If its like everything else elite makes they should still be great quality.
-
Barnsdale is a little spendy, so that would not surprise me. They have been changing a lot recently and that would make sense. I have yet to visit the new facility. Friends who have say it is very impressive!! One even thought it put the Bowtech facility to shame :yike:
I apologies I was unable to get more recent information. I only had the one contact there so I guess I now have no contact ;) I'll be sure to ask more questions and try to make new contacts at the show this year!

Speed isn't everything and 330fps isn't really that slow. :twocents: I've shot a few elites and the speed lose isn't that noticeble with the way they shoot.
