Sooooo maybe a year or so ago, I saw a post made by a guy on here who goes by "returnofsid". He indicated that his daughter was shooting a little Bear Brave II bow and she had outgrown it and he ended up buying her a new bow. I sent him a message and asked if he wanted to sell the little Bear bow. My kid was interested in shooting a bow at that point but I wasn't sure how serious she was so I didn't want to invest a bunch of $$. An inexpensive used bow was right up my alley. Response I got from returnofsid and his daughter Madison was awesome... She decided it would be best to pass the bow on to my daughter in hopes that she'd pick up a new hobby. Well, it worked. She picked up the bow and took to it pretty well. About 2 weeks ago I upgraded her into a new Diamond Atomic. I talked to her and she decided it would be best to pass the little Bear on to another kid who might want to try archery out. I checked in with returnofsid and he's in full approval of this...so I guess I'm looking for a kid who wants a bow. It'll have to be a little kid. I honestly didn't ever try to adjust the draw length. I'm not sure it's even possible. I have the draw weight cranked down about as low as it will go. I think it's around 15 pound draw weight. My kid at 6 years old could draw it no problem. She'd shoot 10-15 arrows at a time. The draw length was admittedly a little short for her but we weren't shooting archery competitions with it...just wanted to see if she'd get into it. The bow is not perfect but it works fine for what you're going to do with it. The string on this model bow is weird. I think it's a piece string, as in there is not a string and cable like a "real" bow. With the draw weight cranked down like it is, the string is loose at idle. I've read on this and it's normal. It has a whisker biscuit on it and a simple sight with 1 pin that rattles loose all the time. LOL. If you have a 5-8 year old kid looking to try it out, this is the right deal for you. Size-wise, my kid just turned 7. She's a really big 7 year old...bigger than all the boys in her class. I would think this bow would fit a kid from 5-7 or 8 years old without issue.
I'm giving it away to a kid that will use it and hopefully for the same purpose as my kid used it for, and I'll ship it at my cost. I'll include a couple arrows too. I just ask that if it still functions when your kid outgrows it, pass it on to someone else.

Josh, Madison was thrilled when I told her of your proposal! In fact, it brightened her day a lot, on what would otherwise be a not so bright day for her. Some of you may know, some may not, but Madison is in the hospital after having two surgeries in two days. She's likely to be in here for awhile. So as to not derail this thread, I'll ask that this thread remain about the journey of this bow, from our daughter, to Josh's daughter, now onto it's next home! I'm excited to hear more about it's journey! For us, the journey started at a yard sale. This evening, when I showed her the pictures you posted, of your daughter shooting the bow, she loved it! She was very happy to hear that your daughter was able to put it to use and learn to enjoy archery. We both hope that another young girl is able to get as much enjoyment out of it as we do.
So, not only is this bow continue on a wonderful journey of helping another young child, the news of it's journey helped to brighten our daughter's rough day.

Simply Awesome, We have passed on (also for free) 2 older/smaller bows to other families when both of my daughters moved on to newer/bigger bows. Probably why I love the sport of archery so much. Or maybe it is just the people involved in archery... Either way, great thread!
