I got an awesome deal on one of these hats. Whenever you buy one of these cool hats
at any Hoyt dealership they give you a free bow! :chuckle: :IBCOOL: Actually I ended
up with two of these cool hats tonight and my poker winnings stash is bye bye. Tonight
I am the proud owner of a Hoyt Alphamax 32 and my daughter will have a Hoyt Trykon Jr
under the Christmas tree.
Doug at Great NW Archery was awesome. I went in yesterday to tell him I would bring in
my daughter today and that I was gonna have her try out a bow but not to let on that I
was really going to buy it. Today I asked her if she wanted to try a bow since I was in
there buying mine. She was all excited but she was nervous because she couldn't pull the
last youth buy she tried. Well that Hoyt Trykon Jr pulled back like nothing for her. She was
so excited. She is thinking that I might buy it for her after my tax returns come in next year.
I'll be picking up both our bows this coming week. In the mean time, I've got one expensive hat
to wear around. ;)
-
I'm adoptable!! I want a new bow so freak'n BAD. I will make it happen before next season.....Congrats on the new gear.
-
is hers pink? :chuckle:
-
Nice!! That will be a great Christmas morning at your house!!
-
Congrats, I have over 10 hoyt hats lying around! they look great!
-
Hers is camo just like daddy's! The funny thing is I took one of my buddies with me since he needed work done on his bow. I told him go ahead, take a shot with the Alphamax. He is now gonna buy one too.
-
also a shock! wapiti we should get together sometime and shoot our alphamaxs
-
Is that the one I should buy? Alphamax.....is that the 1??? Sound like a dang kid in a candy store.
-
The alphamax looks like a slower copy of a last years Bowtech 82nd airborne. ;)
(just trying to fuel a little friendly bow brand rivalry)
-
No bow rivalry here. I'm a firm believer in just shooting what feels best to ya. I don't think anyone can go wrong with any of the new bows out there. If it feels good and is fun to shoot then you are gonna shoot more and be a better shooter. Plus I know my limbs won't blow up :chuckle: (just joking back at ya EastWaViking), honestly I almost ended up with the Admiral, another sweet shooting bow.
-
here we go lol it looks like a copy EXCEPT the hoyts new ZT LOCK pocket system is about 1000000 times better then bowtechs :o it directly links the limb to the riser.. PERFECT really. also the new TEC LITE riser is stronger and lighter.. the enginering behind any of the TEC risers is a flawless design concept.... but yes it does look very similiar at a glance, that however is where the simliarities end sir.........
-
I was thinking Admiral, myself. I shot each one of them and going back and doing it again. Well see, i like the admiral alot
-
Very cool! Its always fun when you get to leave an archery shop with a complete new setup!!
MS

....because the Bowtech 82nd is 25 to 30 fps faster! ;)
(I'll stop now, if you want to know the truth, I've never shot a Hoyt, so I know nothing about them, and my Bowtech is a old 2004 Patriot set at 60 lbs. (290 fps) I do love it though!) I think you probably can't go wrong with any of them Mathews, Bowtech or
Hoyt.
-
Theres nothing better than a Bear :chuckle: Just kiddin!
-
LOL ill take the advances in riser and cam design over the 25-40fps..... tec riser can not be equalled
-
Yeah but does Bear give you a nice free bow when you buy one of their expensive hats :chuckle:
-
hah thats very true they do, a bow with a horrible feeling hand grip. and thats the whole line, I tried them all
-
Wonki, Nice..... Sounds like you got something that works great for you. One of these days I'll run into you at the range. Going to join after the first of the year... Look for me I'll be the guy shaking my hand cause of the horrible feeling hand grip BEAR/Jennings bow..... and a cheap hat.... :chuckle:
-
Wonky,
Congrats on the new bows. Glad to hear your daughter is excited about bows. I can't wait to get my daughter one. Happy shootin.
-
Congrats! Even more congrats on getting the daughter involved! I got my son and daughter a new bow this year... to go along with my new expensive hat (I got a new Bowtech Captain with my hat! :-)) Its nice to have them come in and say, "Dad can we go outside and shoot?" Then look at the wife and say oh..... ok just for you guys... :-) LOL
-
Wow Nwwabowhntr that's an angle I never even thought of! "Gee honey, the girls asked me if I could take them to shoot their bows, sorry I can't go to the mall now." :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

My wife bought me the top of the line Mathews Z-Lite back in 94 I think it was. I have harvested many nice animals with that bow including my 08 Washington moose. It cracks me up to listen to all these guys pumping their chests up talking about their new 350 fps bows with state of the art engineering, and coming off as though anything else is inferior.
Like any modern firearm out these days its more about shot placement than anything else. All my kills have been with one shot, right through the vitals and I can guarantee not one of these animals gave a rats ass that my bow didn't have state of the art limbs or risers. Its about shot control and confidence, both of which are more important than just buying the newest, biggest, baddest gear on the market.
I am all for reading about everyones excitement over their new gear, don't get me wrong, but lets not forget that not everyone on hear can go out each year and upgrade. Its nice to read about new technology and the advantages it can give you but please don't disparage what others may have, we have one MM and I'd like to keep it that way.
I'm with EastWaViking, you can't go wrong with Hoyt, Bowtech or Mathews, they are all quality bows. :twocents:

Ya but Phool, you are avoiding the real topic in this post. Did you get a Mathews hat with your bow? :chuckle: :chuckle:

I can't wait to buy my daughter her first bow. She is 7 months, do you think she can pull it back? haha All kidding aside, its nice to see us parents getting our kids into these types of things at such a young age.
-
:yeah:
-
I dont have any kids but I do take my beagle hunting alot... only if she could get a tag
-
My bow will be ready on Monday, I can't wait, and my daughter's arrows came in too so I'll be picking up here bow as well...It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!
-
thats awesome! it took my bow 3 extra weeks to get here, somehow hoyt did not get the first fax!

my last bow before this year was my 1999 or so Clearwater. Just getting too old to carry that heavy a bow..... :-) SO I had to upgrade!
-
This morning my daughter opened up her bow and she hasn't stopped grinning yet. She wore her own new Hoyt hat ALL day long and wouldn't take it off for nothing. She had to take her new bow to my sister's for dinner tonight so she could show the rest of the family. I think I made the right gift choice. :)
-
that is wonderful!!!!! congrats
