Title: Waterfowl and Deer?
Post by: McCRIZZLEY on October 10, 2014, 02:34:50 PM
I'm curious about this. What are the legalities of hunting both at the same time?

I could not find anything, except the obvious like you can only have one gun while duck hunting, and only non toxic. But what if you had non toxic slugs? or buck?

What if you brought a rifle and hunter orange and left it in the truck?

Anybody go out for duck and prepare for buck?

There wouldn't be any legality issues with that. In fact there's no reason you can't carry a rifle and a shotgun at the same time. Of course, there is the orange requirement, as you said, so just make sure you put your orange on when you switch from hunting ducks to hunting deer.

same goes with waterfowl and pheasant. If you want to take a break and hunt cocks then you still have to put on your orange

Had orange and slugs on many a duck hunt, just in case.

Maybe you can carry a deer legal sidearm. That way you don't have to worry about possessing toxic rounds while in the blind.
