Been watching this little buck for an hour. He's bedded about 100 yards from me. He's a great meat buck and I wouldn't hesitate to shoot him on the last day.
But today is my first day of 4 to hunt. I don't want it to be over.
On the other hand I have a one year old at home and a cow tag to fill next week...
What say you?
-
A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. :chuckle:
But hey I'm a closet dink shooter.
-
Only four days to hunt. Baby at home. Never pass an animal the first day you'd shoot on the last. Cow tag to fill.
If I had the shot, its early enough in the morning, animal is clearly at ease..........SHOOT IT!
-
you have a cow tag at home, a 1 year old at home, and you have 4 days, dont shoot it and maybe you could see something better maybe not, i wouldnt take my chances i would be gutting it by now if i was only givin 4 days to hunt and i had a 1 year old and a cow tag
my say is shoot it and start gutting, put some meat in the freezer and have some good dinner
thats my :twocents:

and remember to post pics :chuckle: :chuckle:

I think I just heard the shot! ;)

Well...its been like 45 seconds........deer down?
-
He's taking as he lay pictures.
-
If you don't want him I'll take him, tell me where he is. :hello:
-
I smell venison....

Isn't technology great. HuntWa at your fingertips while on stand. Gotta love it. LOL
-
How many of us.....other than me......are simply hitting refresh over and over waiting for his two word post...."deer down".
-
Hmmmmm...?
If I'm not in my neighborhood, ie. traveling to hunt, I would probably take the first legal one I had a good shot at. Unless, history has shown me lots of legal animals in the area, though the other circumstances would probably get me to pull the trigger and earn some bonus hubby points by coming back early and successful.

Dilemma solved. (https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.tapatalk.com%2Fd%2F14%2F10%2F17%2Fme3ydyda.jpg&hash=d78fb776cda1782edbd5aece8e315baf999e53ab)
I decided to sneak up and see what happened. 40 yards and still no clue. I liked the eyeguards!
Broke my rule about neck shots but he must have moved. Shot right in the face.

Nice job!

I'd have shot him with about 15 seconds of thought about it. Great job and nice deer!

That thing has been eating eyeguard steroids. Good decision.
-
Nice buck! Way to go... now on to fill that elk tag!

No dilemma there, nice buck!

I hope one like that lets me get within 40 yards during late archery.
-
Great buck congratz! I would have done the same thing  I do have one question tho... Is your one year old walking? :chuckle: If so I would have passed up everything and just "trophy" hunted for the 4 full days. :chuckle:
-
Nice

 Nice job, That's a shooter buck right there. Now go home kiss the baby and momma and now you get bonus points for coming home early on this hunt. :IBCOOL: :hello:

That sure is a handsome rack. I wish I had one with eye guards like that. Picture perfect.
