Title: The rut has definitely started in the islands.

Went to recover my wife's deer after dinner this evening, as we approached the location where she shot the doe, we saw two sets of eyes, one was a buck but we did not get a good look at the head of the other.  He turned and went down the cat road we were on.  When we walked past the area where he was, we could smell the rutty smell, glad she shot a doe and not him.  A friend of my wife's on Lopez Island reported deer all over doing silly things, including a buck following a doe right up to her in their driveway.

L-dog, did your wife get hers with a bow also? Either way give her a fist bump.

Nope, 20g, but at 10 yards she could probably have used a throwing ax.   :chuckle:  Posted the story.
