Ok im curious what everyone thinks. Which would you prefer...to hunt blacktails on the west side or muleys on the east side? Which one do you think is easier...to bowhunt?
-
east side mule deer for me...and i've gotten past the point of worrying about whats easier...there's a lot more to hunting than whats easier IMO. please don't take that the wrong way.
mule deer and blacktail hunting in our state is like comparing apples to oranges. 2 totally different styles of hunting, the surroundings and scenery are different, the animals are different, the terrain is different....etc etc etc.
decide in your head what you'd like to experience and what challenges you'd like to encounter and go for it.

Pretty much what he said.

Mule deer no doubt about it.

Well I would like to experience everything...all the challenges, lol. But it sounds to me like there is a general concensus towards mule deer. I have not really bowhunted either so im looking forward to this year. And I understand what your saying...I did not take it the wrong way...thanks for the help.

once the blacktail guys show up...it'll be an even score. there's quite a few guys on here that hunt blackies too.

You're gathering info for a Sept 1-30 archery deer hunt on Sept 8? lol I may have the situation all wrong but don't worry, that just reminds me of how I was when I first started out... lol ;)
