Title: Threw in the towel a day early
Post by: Chesapeake on December 15, 2008, 10:49:59 AM
Well its bean a long tuff year and I didnt manage an elk. Bean hunting Washougal these last few weeks and the elk in the area we hunt were all bunched up in one large herd so it made them hard to locate. My father found them saturday and me and him ran them down and tag teamed a cow and got meat on the ground about 3:30. It was 9:30 when we had it to the truck and headed out.
Sunday morning me and another guy were back in there and found where they hung up for the nite, but the snow was drifting so bad we lost the tracks about 1pm and couldnt figure out where they went. We pulled out and dropped down in a bowl to try and look around out of the wind. There was no out of the wind and we ran out of light.
This morning I decided to just go to work. Its cats and ducks till spring I guess.
