Come on guys, help a guy out, I couldn't go hunting today, but I'm dying to see some spikes that were harvested.
-
No spikes for me and I was literally soaked from toes to waist but it was still an awesome morning. One group of 30 cows and a 6 point bull and 10 more cows in smaller groups... 41 elk within 100 yards over a span of four hours and not a single other hunter... Great start to modern elk
-
Cousin and uncle each got one today. Now three cow tags in there group. Could be very tired guys.
-
Good luck AdamR. Post some spikes if you get 'um.
-
Good luck adam! Crazy that many cows and not a single spike with them!
-
Two spikes for us! I was going to work on my house this morning and stayed in to work then got called to drag out a friends elk. Got the elk back to his shop and started skinning and got the call to go help my dad get his elk out! My dad got a nice 20" spike and my friends daughter got a nice 21" spike this morning. So was busy dragging dead elk all day! Good times! Will get some pics another day don't have computer to upload them!
-
Here's one.
-
Congrats guys
-
YEAH! Landowner! you're the man!

Both are tagged and legal in a "spike only" unit. :twocents: :twocents:
-
BTW- Congrats to all of those who had successful general season rifle hunts!
-

Let's move on and congratulate the successful hunters.

Congrats on two fine spikes.
-
Nice spikes guys!
-
Nice spikes boys.
-
Nice bulls fellas!!!! I'm jealous, my buddy ended up getting a spike as well up by Power Lake. Those are are about as BIG as spikes get! "Any elk is a good elk."
-
nobody ever even said they werent shot in a any bull unit...maybe they drew a blues tag and took these nice bulls.......Good job on these bulls!!!
Both bulls were shot in the general season in GMU 346.
Both bulls in the pic are tagged, and both are legal in a spike only unit.
The bull on the left was quartered and part of it came out on my back. The bull on the right was shot at 20 yds,and fell 50 yds from the road.

We're you one of the brothers I watched kill the bull on the left? That was a good pack out if so!!
Wish I was 2min faster on my hike :chuckle:
-
It is being handled.
I cleaned this up a bit. Let's leave this a thread about folks that were successful harvesting spikes.
-
They should take 10 points from idiots who waste the wdfw's time trying to be armchair cops.
Amen brother! Nice spikes for those that posted.
-
Dads spike he tagged! I spotted a blonde movement in the bottom of some thick stuff and had my dad and brother stay up high while I cut it off and bumped it out into an opening. Only caught a glance and actually thought it might have been a cat....
-
Nice elk everyone!! First year an a long time that I did not see a bull. All cows for me.
-
here a few that didnt get shot!!

That is a great example of just how conditioned we have become. :bash:

Its funny when I pull my cams and I scroll through the pics and get more excited to see a spike versus a 300+ inch bull.

Took this true spike on opening morning. Finally connected after 5 years of hunting. Thanks to my brother for the help packing him out. Awesome jerky, sausage, and steaks
