In Washington it's not actually called a governors tag at all. It's just an auction tag.

I like it, it's not broomed off, and that's rare on older rams from what I've been told. It might not score as high because of that, but who cares!

What does "broomed off" mean.  Pardon my ignorance, but I will probably never get to hunt one of these majestic animals so I am not very well versed.

Broomed off is when they wear the lamb tips off the end of their horns from eating and browsing....

Why would having them broomed off make them score better?  You would think it would be the other way?

When they are broomed they are shorter but may have greater diameter.... I like it best when they are not broomed, much prettier IMO....

The 4 mass measurements equidistant apart are heavier when they are broomed.

So who actually killed this ram? Is he on this forum? We need a story, at the very least the unit it was taken out of.

I met the guide and the tag holder yesterday as they were glassing a handful of rams.
It was a well known guide out of Idaho. Also a fairly well documented tag holder from out of the country. Congrats to the tag holders, but there were way too many good rams taken out of the unit this year. There won't be another year like this for quite some time.

Ya natives got slighted since its suppose to be 50/50 in that unit and instead 4 rams for state and only 2 tribal rams:)
