Has anyone ever tagged a bird around Teanaway? I always see tons of them in the summer but have yet to see one for the spring hunt.

Do a search on here for my Spring time frustration...There are birds in there. I know some people that live there and they have seen flocks of them. I just don't think there is a huge population of them and there is a ton of area for the birds to hide/migrate though. The toughest part is locating them, something I was never able to do last year.

I have been out there in August and September and seen over 100 at a time. I went back during the spring turkey hunt and didn't see a dang thing but deer, which is what I didn't see in september on the archery hunt. I do know somone that was luckily to bag one there about 5 years back. I guess its truly being at the right place at the right time. I am going to try and find some place new to hit up this year. I have never bagged one before and plan on putting some time in this year.

I've shot a couple the past 2 years. They are there, but you have to work for them

Before I moved I hunted there. Tons of people and very few turkeys. Head North east

I would love to but it seems like everything I head over there it is mainly private land.

there are turkeys over there i killed a big tom there last year. and as far as headin towards the klickitat there is privat eland in alot of places but if you do your homework you can deffinently find birds on public land. no matter where you go you will always have to work for turkey, it aint an easy sport bit it is fun as hell and very rewarding when you do kill a big tom after working for it.

Sounds like we may have to set up a weekend hunting/camping trip this spring.

same here i see them in hundreds in fall but last spring when i went to hunt there we couldnt see any

Killed one there last year also. Put one horn on the bird he killed. I like it because I can hunt before and after school. Working my college schedule to fit turkey hunting offers me a lot of time to scout and hunt. Tons more birds in tons of other places, though. On weekends when I have more time, I don't hunt the teanaway. There are way better places to go. Like Klickman said, head northeast. Just look at the harvest reports...they are unreal.

They're there and do seem a little harder to kill probably due to the pressure. My first turk ever was from there. Last year there was so much snow early it was hard to get in on them down low with out competition. The flock seems to be growing every year and with so much room along the cascades I think they are in small vast roaming flocks.

Vast is a good way to describe these birds. Its hard if you screw one gobbler up to go from bird to bird to bird till you get one to work. Thats why I head elsewhere on weekends when I have more time.

I saw some cross the road several times last year up middle fork and 97 last year. I also saw some next to the road out by Hidden Valley almost every time up there.
