I got to give a big  tot the Doc at Broadway. My Chessie Chief attempted to cut his 2 left rear toes off while trying to retrieve some ducks while hunting this weekend.
Marvin Chamberlain, DVM Is the man! They are open on saturday So i got Chief in and they sewed him up. Just got done with a checkup from my vet and was told that who ever did this work did an outstanding job. Chief nearly cut off his toe. Missed all the ligaments and apparently has good blood flow now.
If your out in the basin and need help call these guys! 509-765-3481

Glad to hear the dog is ok, that is scary. Another great reminder to those of us that tend to be out and about with our dogs, have an idea of the nearest vet in case of an emergency!
I've used that vet in an emergency as well, my Britt had a bout of myoglobinurea that they diagnosed and got me on my way with some piece of mind.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll add that vet to my list.
What did that dog catch his foot on?
-
Is this the same Marv Chamberlain who was a star baseball player for the Cougars and drafted by Montreal Expos?
-
Always great to have a list of DVMs for the area(s) you hunt.
I will add Chamberlain and his nuber to my list.
Thanks for the heads up

Chamberlain is a talented guy with a PILE of experience under him. You were in very good hands....

I thought he got caught in some underwater bobwire but the cut was too clean. i think he got caught up in some reeds/saw grass. He had some other cuts on him. He is healing up hopefully in another 3 weeks he can get back to hunting with me. He is driving me and the wife crazy because he wants to run so bad. Had to put a splint on his foot to keep from flexing it too much.

great to know for when in the basin. appreciate the heads up. good luck with chief.

Looks like chief is going to make a full recovery
-
Looks real good!
The DVM does nice work.

He still has a small hot spot he licks on the side of his foot. I think that had more to do with him being cooped up with no real excercise for too long. He is now running around the shop yard and chasing rabbits. Im going to take him out over thanksgiving. Probably go for the last westside phesant relase and try to pound some ducks!
I also have to add that he pulled some stitches when the wife was in charge so his heal time and the cost went up... Add to that the medication from Broadway blew out of the truck I had to rebuy the meds! :bash: Fortuantly They blew out of my truck in my lunch box and it landed on the Farm so my brother in law was able to find it....
