I’m not good writer and I can only dream of having the style like Hirshey when she writes about her hunting ,therefore my post is short and simple .
“Thank you Lokidog for helping me to harvest “My very first deer”
After reading my post filled with frustration , Ed invited me to hunt on their island and I shot my first deer in my life . He let me stay at their house, picked me up with his boat in Anacortes ,lend me his shotgun ,helped me to skin and butcher and I just want everyone to know that he is outstanding guy . We shared stories in the evening while sipping whiskey and rum and I had admired their way of life .
I couldn’t have done it without you , thank you .

What a great thing all around!

Great first deer, congrats!
Of all the deer I have taken the San Juan Blacktail truly are the best table fare. Also, I think the San Juan Blacktail deserve recognition as their own subspecies.
Lokidog, you certainly added to the karma meter on this one, very, very good…

Congratulations to all.
-
Congrats! I'm happy for your first success! You have a lifetime of hunting to explore just precisely what details you want to share about your hunts.. I'm sure you'll master the art of BS like me someday.. :) I'm elated you were able to solidify new friendships and put some meat in the freezer!! Congrats again.
-
That's the good stuff I come on here to see! Congrats to you both.
-
Posts don't get a whole lot better than that!

Every since I first read one of these stories of crushed apples and little island deer some odd years ago I've been impressed with this Lokidog. Good people.
-
He also forgot to include the photo with our island deer transport device....
I see you even have a score card on the steering wheel
Heck of a shot there Cap'n. Congratulations on the deer.
-
Congratulations on the first deer
Not surprised that someone from the forum helped you out. I have met several folks from Hunt Washington and they have all been stand up guys. Sportsman helping Sportsman, there are plenty of unselfish folks on this site, and this is just another example of that. :IBCOOL:
This is a great site to be a member of, I have helped several guys with info to their animals. In return I have gotten great support for the Salmon For Soldiers project. This is why Hunt Wa is a great site, we help and respect each other.

No golf courses on Decatur IsLand, pretty sure that's Lokidogs honey do list! :chuckle:

Actually.... we do have a nine hole golf course here on the island. And, Weathergirl wishes it was my HTD list. :chuckle:
-
I might add that Ed is great craftsman and I'm sure if he had access to backhoe he would build better golf course then in Augusta ,GA in no time :chuckle:
-
Lokidog did this for me too, and I believe he has shown this kind of hospitality to a number of others as well. Picked me up in Anacortes in his boat, put me up in his house, got me on a deer, helped me dress it out, and sent me home with some meat from his freezer as well!
Ed is a first class kinda guy, I think his karma bank account balance probably makes him a "karma 1%er"!
Cap, congrats on your first deer! Excellent table fare right there!
-
Good job ...happy you got your 1st buck  :brew:
-
Way to get it done Martin.
-
Good story and congrats

 LOKI GUIDE SERVICE :chuckle:
-
I will echo everything that everyone has said about Loki. Congrats to you Martin if I forgot to tell you. Welcome to the fever.
-
Absolutely fantastic hearing stories like this. I have not hunted the last 3 seasons due to neck injury but reading these stories makes it ok. Great job to everyone involved.
-
Good work and good on him! Sounds like it was a guided hunt at a hunting lodge.... at no cost! Sounds like he's living the good life!
